Hardware Franchising

This is a new business model option besides self-mining and hardware sales. We will rent the excessive hashing power to financial and technical capable people, accepting full deposits at the market price, shipping the devices and collecting a certain PPS rate based on the theoretical hashrate. The PPS rate, the dividing of cost coverage, as well as warranty/exit strategy are being discussed in detail and executed as small-scale experiments.

This model is similar to hardware sales in the aspect that we do not have in control on how the users make use of our devices, therefore has more decentralization in spirit. And like with self-mining, it aims at settings in scale, enjoying the reduction of NRE cost and operating cost overall, and reducing potential marketing/advertisement/customer service costs.

Project Timeline

August-September: Deploy/sell all hashpower arriving in July and early August.
September-November: Deploy/sell the hashpower ordered at early July.
November-December: Experimental products of 2nd-gen chips and modular large-scale deployment solutions.

Anyone developing ASICs in India yet?

I know that some people are already working on a release for a BFL PCB board. Not sure about ASIC chip manufacturers through. All our discussions didn't go too well as CHip manufacturing is too expensive to start with.

received today BFL 60ghs miner, powered it by Corsair PSU 750TX. there was power adapter in the box, but ... well it did not look so good as miner. Fixed it on my proxy machine running Debian and cgminer, 60ghs delivered as promised.
thanks BFL one more happy miner.

Congrats dude, you are making too much money lol.

I am sure, Pinwheel does not agree with me, but I believe mining now days is kind of zero sum game. BUT if there is any ASIC that can justify the price at this very moment its BFL ( Please I am not talking about Inaba and all that shit.. ).. nothing else.. But again, every one knows, I dont mine and hopefully now will never mine Tongue

Cheers

some people looking at mining as sort of get rich fast scheme. it is profitable business, very profitable, problem with depreciation of asset same in most of other business. Larger asset you have more depreciation loses, but with annual profitability more then for example 140% mining is fantastic business. Entry point low too. it is attracting  investments. Network hash rate changing owners. But game is changed radically too, people used to get more money with less, now you have to put more and you will get less. Market forces, at some point this ASIC rush may slow down, but this point hardly visible at the moment.

that was first day order 06/23/2012, I made one more 2 weeks after that one.

I making too much money, no I dont think so, in last few weeks mining scene changed totally. In individual ranking I'm on  34 position with 300ghs. those guys on top, making money and see it is mostly new users with 6 digits account numbers.

it is 318 blocks to go  till difficulty will change. with current speed network making 180 blocks per day. So, till difficulty change we got less then 2 days. Next difficulty will be 19119512 plus 22%. With current bitcoins rate around 100 usd mining is not  a best investment.

Much better income will be from ASICminer shares. by  buying shares you are renting ASICminer hash rate and cost of shares which you holding growing too.

I purchased first ASICMINER-PT shares  on 16 April for 0.89 btc per shares, now one share cost 2.97. I made profit 398 btc in two months just by holding ASICminer shares.

Any speculation on the end value of each PT share?

AM shares will continue to rise, little doubts about that. When, I first purchased shares, my decision was based on news that friedcat going to increase his mining hash rate form 9 tera to 25 tera, he increased to 30+. That resulted in increase in dividends paid each week and shares price went up.

At current situation, total bitcoins network hash rate is 131 ths. friedcat already got delivered chips for 100ths, from 200 ths of total chips been ordered and paid. Getting blades manufactured will not take much time, but to deploy such kind of mining is really huge job. Obviously, he will have to sale a lot from these 100 trh. It is 10000 blades 10ghs each. Next 3 months can be real busy time and exponential growth. After that Avalon chips and BitFury may create some competition as their devices will enter market. AM in any way in no loose situation, what ever they cant sale they will mine on it.

Also if looking in longer time mining prospective, this 200 ths chip are definitely will be last of current modification chips. 3-4 months and we can expect new chips and new devices from AM. That is kept in big secrete obviously.

Technology never sleeps and there is a lot advancements in ASICs design and validation on market. It resulted in reduced development time and reduction of development cost. By using existing basic blocks, libraries and schematics new ASIC chip can be designed in one month, add few months for validation of prototypes and here is new ASIC on the market.

Not a boring at all Smiley

+1 buddy all the best!

thanks and welcome!!

BFL shipping all models from this week. All orders up to July 2012 will be shipped by using chips and boards which they already have in hands. I have two 64 ghs miners in this first batch.

Currently running 11 blades on HIGH clock and 11 on LOW. still have to sort out problems with adequate power supply and backup and heat removal. need to fix some sort of duct.  Currently mining only on btcguild and making around 10 btc per day with PPLNS payout.

If I can run all blades on HIGH clock that  will make good difference, like 5-6 blades extra.

This device is being designed in parallel by the ORSoC engineers and will offer industry leading performance and power consumption per GH.

The final specifications for this device are being ironed out now but we can confirm the following.

    Minimum 175GH/s per device.
    28nm Standard ASIC

$ 3,795.00
looks like great deal and you does not have pay anything for preorder.

Orsoc company seems like very real thing and they confirmed collaboration with  kncminer

Very nice. I kinda like KNC Miner too. Fast responses and they actively try to help with solutions.

Well hope for the best.
People on the forum did visit BFL ,i did read reports about the visits. BFL couldn't get the Prototype>Mass Production phase right i guess.

Pinwheel could sell his ASICMiners in September(after breakeven) at whatever Mh/$ ratio other companies are offering for additional profit over mining, if he wants to upgrade to2nd gen miners. He did mention that electricity costs don't matter much in his place, i guess.

Cool man.

Other people are still shitting in their pants, deciding, to buy or not to buy.
The only thing im looking out for is the next die shrink.
Youll make more return, if no other miners come in September, which is very likely considering the BFL saga.
Knc miner sounds like Science fiction considering their Mh/$ ratio and the pics which the've put up on their website makes things worser.

I might be visiting KNC Miner in July to vet their product.

Many people got misguided by hash rate calculators. those guys appears to be smart and giving gloomy prospects of how hash rate growing and growing and growing and reaching sky high numbers in future. Or you mine and make money or keep counting hash rate.

to win it you have to be in it!

most important concern was, how good those blades are. I ordered first two blade form first auction and tested them quite a bit, overclocked one on 1.3v under good cooling and got 16ghs continuous for 24 hours. these blades are very good and not kind of experimental product. it is industrial quality heavy duty use machines.

modular design extremely smart to. Suppose you have problem with network module, replace it, cost near to nothing, same with power module.not need to replace whole board. everything what these guys do seem so right, in our times of planetarial scale mess. it is RARE.

You paid in BTC, 75 BTC.
If taking btc price as 150 USD, then it comes 11250 USD, which is 609187.50 INR.
Is that correct?

you paid premium & you got premium.
Eager to see it hashing at 25+ gh/s

I paid 150 btc for two blades. I purchsed these btc on rate 5.6 one year ago, so it cost me  840 usd. Sort of reinvestment of profit 150btc on 150 is usd 22500 now.

I got it running by now, with power supplies from CCTV cameras. I'm getting 9.5 ghc on old server btcguild. I will install stratum proxy later on old nettop with Atom, so things will get better.

I regret I did not bid for more blades Sad

I think you'll live. I was talked out of investing e5000 before christmas even though I got a job specifically for investing in bitcoins and then they skyrocketed in february. I regret not following my own belief in bitcoin.

If the timing was not perfect, this would have been way overpriced.

price dictated by desirability. Two blades can mine 1 btc per day, it is 200% annual, not counting on rise in btc rate. so it can easy become 1000% annual, with very low risk investment.

Some more  auctions are coming, Possible we will see price like 100 btc per blade there, now it is proved an confirmed by community product.

Awesome.  20 Ghz's total?

26 Ghz's minimum from two blades, as reported by others, with overclocking will be around 30 Ghz's

Did they ask you what it was?

They asked me what my iPad was. Think it was among the first few international orders.

they asked me to pay only, as long as I remember they never asked what it is before. courier guys only concerned to get paid.

Wanna hear a funny story ?

I ordered a tuner cum pick up for my guitar from ebay.COM, got held at the customs for 30 days and then I had to go & explain to them that it looked only LOOKED like a _______ cuz it had an LED screen.

Can understand the pain..

Any idea how customs may deal with it?

custom cleared by courier (Fedex, DHL, UPS), delivery guy will show you how much they paid for custom clearance and you give him money, that is all.
If it is your first delivery they may not charge you anything at all. Later like 800-1000 inr per parcel. UPS having worst rates for custom clearance.

My blades already in India, super fast shipping by friedcat!!

Did you declare any price for your hardware to the customs ?

A simple calculation from ppobox.com tells me I will have to pay HUUUUGE customs fees :/

Real good thing is that all those annoying brats, who was screaming -"scam ... scam" can shut up now

thanks, yeah I been around for a while, still have bitcoins from time it was 4.7 usd. Sold few thousand on that rate too. (hell of a money now) One year ago, it was hard to belie bitcoins will be 6 usd during my life time. never been seriously involved just playing in free time.

My BFL SC Singles will be shipped in first shipping batch.  Looking to buy few more ASICMINERS.

If you do, dont announce it publicly you are just attracting the attention that could be bad.

well  .. thanks ... it is up to me to decide what to announce and what not. isn't it.

Yup, Its just an advice, not an order.

I just won in ASICMINER Auction: 10 Block Erupter Blades

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178275.400

I got two ASICMINER Erupter Blades for just 150 btc . Last seconds of auction was just mental, people appeared from nowhere and start posting bids.  huh ... need some refreshing drink Smiley

Congrats! You also have early BFL, so looks like you have been in the BTC for quite some time, it is certainly commendable considering not much btc awareness in India yet.

I am not doubting your win.
I am doubting the shadowy bitcoin foundation doing nowadays.
I don't think any one will come & grab it, just like that, without knowing ur address or location.
Posting pics & videos not going to harm you.
But if bitcoin foundation, commands you not to show any one, by signing a NDA orally or in written, then its very bad.
I have some idea how much bitcoin dark side growing & how much greedy its getting day by day.

This is INDIA.

To be honest there are just too many people who will have the temptation to bully him & take the hasher from him by force. If i were him I would do the same thing & be utmost secretive about this - this is specially keeping in mind that 90% of us geeks are weak & fragile & skinny ( unlike me ).

I was just planning on cutting off the electricity to his house though.

Hopefully BFL will start shipping soon as well.

I got email from them few days ago, saying that my orders scheduled for shipment, so seems like real  soon, but nothing is for sure with BFL.

I doubt if mine will reach in 2013.

I had cancelled my first order and reordered. Sad
