Bitcoin is not banned in China, it's restricted. Pretty much have to go through hell to get anything that has to do with bitcoin approved. Most likely you'll have to grease a few hands! That's the natural of business!

That is the normal process in China, but "greasing hands" is considered very unethical in most of the world .

It has been said before but this is not the 1st bitcoin ATM in China.

With that being acknowledged, bitcoin ATMs help get the public aware and interested in Bitcoin. They also are very effective in getting the local public to use bitcon. Just look at Vancouver.

It isn't so much the fact that an article is written, it is more the fact that there is an ATM in a "new" location.

The first ATM for bitcoin was place in Vancouver, BC and bitcoin acceptance is huge there.

In the medium term (~2 years) after BTC ATMs go to a new location, the level of public acceptance in that area will go up significantly

As per the article a BTC ATM has been installed by robocoin. As far as I know this is not the first BTC ATM in China.

Regardless this is good for bitcoin.

Right now in China, banks are not allowed to do business with Bitcoin related companies. That is all. A Bitcoin ATM doesn't use a bank. I don't know why most people on this forum are unable to comprehend this and keep screaming "Bitcoin Ban! Bitcoin Ban!"
