Actually i'm thinking about create bitcoin address from mini public key so the search process would be far easier.

I found out that https://www.bitaddress.org where "Wallet Details" can show various address/public key from private key which list Mini PK well, but unfortunately they don't show the mini PK format Sad
Edit : If you enter mini private key, https://www.bitaddress.org can show compressed/uncompressed address from the mini PK.  But what i found is useless since what you have is mini Public Key.

it has nothing to do with "mini private key" and it has absolutely nothing to do with "mini public key" in fact there is no such thing as "mini public key"!
what these coins contain is the first 8 characters of the address which then you will have to look up in THEIR database to find the address. here is the list of Litecoin addresses: http://lealana.com/fulllistltc.txt just CTRL+F inside the browser and you will find the address that belongs to you.

of course i think OP is talking about http://firstbits.net/about.php (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Firstbits) which is not working anymore. which again is another database which you have to look up your lower-cased and shortened addresses inside. there is no workaround.

Does anyone know of any remainin online tools to check a physical coins balance from the firstbits displayed on the coin.

I understand the concept of firstbits has died a death but i need to check balances on some funded and potentially unfunded physical Lealana coins I have.
you can try https://www.walletexplorer.com to search for funded address (or at least has 1 transaction)
however it wouldn't work for unfunded (never funded) address and might give a different address
that because firstbits is case-insensitive and assigned to the first-matched address seen on the blockchain
try a longer firstbits/prefix to get a more accurate address Wink

Hi

Or a simple walk through on generating the full addess from first bits

Much appreciated guys

I don't own any physical lealana coins, but if i'm not mistaking, a firstbit address is basically just the first characters of a "normal" P2PKH address. Firstbits just parsed all transactions and kept a database with all funded addresses. If you entered the first characters of an address, they'd look up which address started with this exact sequence.

So, you'd basically have to start parsing around the time your Lealana coin should have been funded, and see if you find any transactions that fund an address starting with the character sequence printed on your coin...

Then again, i can be completely wrong with this theory... Anyways, good luck!

EDIT: Since LoyceV already came to the same conclusion, i'm pretty sure i'm correct... The only difference between his theory and mine is that i think you'll only need to parse part of the blockchain, since addresses funded AFTER the Lealana coin has been purchased for the first time are not interesting in your case.

You could extract all funded Bitcoin addresses from the blockchain, and see which addresses match your firstbits. But still, it could be another address having the same first characters, so you can't be sure it's your address (do I understand the principle of firstbits correctly?). If I'm right, that also means you can't find the address that belongs to the unfunded coins.

To do this, start reading around here: Re: Get list of all addresses with a balance over x?
