If the scaling solutions fall in place, then a lot of other things will happen soon there after. You will see some killer apps or games based on micro

transactions and you will see the replacement of older technologies like PayPal for micro payments. The Remittance market for smaller

transactions will also explode. All this is dependant on the scaling being efficient going forward.  Grin

I would say that it will stay because people believe in it. Also, this is the only one that people believe in that is also ultimately decentralized. Ethereum might be a good alternative, but it is not decentralized in a sense that there are people behind it's development that could possibly alter its course. Bitcoin is handled by the community and the user's have the say whether they would support a change.

i only need one reason: it works perfectly!
if you forget about transaction fees for a moment, and start thinking without propaganda anyone can see that bitcoin is working perfectly as a decentralized cryptocurrency with the highest security without possibility of any fraud like charge back and all the problems of credit cards and old money systems.

so even if nothing changes (which they will) bitcoin will continue to be the same strong currency as it always has been.

A major issue hindering Bitcoin is uncertainty about its future. The debate is over whether Bitcoin will be a successful long run innovation or fizzle out like so many prior innovations.

It is possible to make a relatively accurate prediction about the future of Bitcoin by analyzing five factors successfully used by technology adoption experts for decades: relative advantage, compatibility with other innovations, experience through trialability, complexity and observability.

These factors, derived from the classic work of innovation diffusion theorist Everett Rogers, when combined with features unique to Bitcoin, suggest that Bitcoin is here to stay.
