What would you say to those that bought at $18,000? HODL? The right decision is not always the popular decision, nor is it the best decision.

The constant motif of "hodl" is what makes people rely on emotion rather than logic.

This is a very old thread, that time BTC was still priced at less than $500, and if OP solve because he got frustrated, for sure he miss the ATH.
Last December 2017 was the best year to sell BTC for big profit, this thread somehow gives us a lesson to relax and just HODL.

It's painful for me to accept that Reptilia's Waco Compound in-game currency is superior to Bitcoin, yet logic dictates that I do so.

I'm thinking the same thing do not sell your bitcoins or something, just hold them for the price increase that is coming this year, if you ask me the bitcoin has a really good future.
I think the bitcoin will jump to a high amount again soon or later, just hold them.

Situation on the field:

Bitcoin - baaad baaad fundamentals, Blockstream / Core / Chinese miners doesn't care about Bitcoin, they just care about their profits.
Ethereum - enormously good fundamentals, everything is going just right and it doesn't even started how it should.

Draw your own conclusions. My opinion is that if we don't see Classic forking very soon, Bitcoin is done, will be replaced by Ethereum and possibly Monero, both are superior in every sense. I already converted almost all of my holdings to various alts. Diversification is the answer here to try to keep your wealth. If you want to be more conservative go buy NBT (which maintains 1:1 USD peg), and transfer it to your wallet. BTC is gonna crash so hard soon, this is nothing.

This is reason why you should not trust these ops. Most of these topics are meant to cause panic.
So they can buy cheap bitcoins. It's an old method and i really doubt if it works..

this OP is an example for panic sellers who are the reason for more dropping, if you lost your faith in bitcoin as an investment, you should sell as soon as possible . but if you still believe that the price will recover again as it done before many times, then hold your coins and do not give traders more cheap coins

Obvious troll spreading negative price allegations in order to drop the price more for bearish views. I hope that the majority of bitcoin investors do not expect this small decline to dip down any lower. Look at the past couples months. It's been going up and down and up and down in the same fashion. There's going to be another rise once the block size is implemented.

I gave up on keeping my crypto money in Bitcoin, it's just too volatile to have any decent amount in and not get random swings of price.

IMO you're better off keeping it in a bank with a debit card where you can buy from Circle instantly when you want to have some coin for something or think the price is going to go up.  

Well yes bitcoin isin't stable, maybe you are just very unlucky with buying/selling them, others are hapy with bitcoin price now, and going up more, just wait month and keep eye on prices, to unseratand it

why don't you try to dont spent it and wait again for the price increase and sell it so there's nothing to lose.. Or wait for halving ends so that you can make more profit..

i think one of the reasons for the recent drop is the ETH massive pump, that market is attracting more and more investment, the money that is being pulled out of bitcoin temporarily

so that money is going to come back with profit and be invested in bitcoin once again hence pushing it up higher this time.

no it's not dying you see bitcoin price is rising from 200usd in 2015 to 400+usd in 2016 and i will prevail due to upcoming halving the reward.

No problem! I believe OKCoin and possibly a few other "regular" exchanges do futures, if that's of interest? Vanilla options just seems limited to Coinut for now, unless Quedex has finally moved off testnet. At least one poster here has offered OTC options trades in the past, as well.

OK, I can possibly help with your current situation. Ride it out! It's highly unlikely that a few days' down means "never go up again" - yes, it will stop dropping. Alternatively, if you really can't sleep at night - sell BTC until you reach the point where you're not worried. And never invest more than you can afford to lose - the loss of sleep isn't worth any possible gain.

dude bitcoin is fluctuative and this price dropping is very usual, just look back few months ago when bitcoin price at $1000 and then going down fastly and touch $200 at the end,this price stable for about a month and go up again till it reach $500,so i can sure the bitcoin price will increase soon,just wait for it

And since he seems pretty emotional, he clearly invested more than he could afford to lose. In other words, he should sell BTC now, so that he wouldn't be overinvested.

You should not behave in such a way. Already each and every user know the fluctuating nature of Bitcoin. So only when Bitcoin price increases we should not praise it. Even when price decreases also we need to accept it.

first of all it is bitcoin and the price will go up and down for the foreseeable future. you have to know this already. and even if you didn't know just take a quick look at a bitcoin price chart which can be found anywhere (bitcoinwisdom.com) the history is there for everybody to see, nothing is hidden, so you can't say I didn't know about the swings.

secondly, if you really think bitcoin is shit, criminal money, blah blah; why did you invest in the first place and why are you here among us criminals

Never invest more than you can afford. If you invest in something with money that you really need in your personal life, then you are playing with fire. Every time you see the price drop it will hurt. The current price drop is a normal market reaction. We have seen this happen quite a lot. Just keep holding your coins till the block halving. By that time the price will go up significantly.

Can you please show us the proof or the source link where we/I can read more in detail because i'm a bit surprised that bitcoin will crash soon.

I'm disappointed a bit because there is a huge drop( i consider it a huge >30$) recently these days, but there is still a hope that the price will increase in upcoming weeks.
