I think, if it is free hosting package than mostly you can't support lot of traffic at a time. It is going to be quite slow if many people try to access your site at a time so it is better have your own hosting plan to handle the traffic. Good luck to you.

You're not understanding the concept here.
It's github pages Smiley
The bandwidth is big enough to handle a good amount of traffic without lag (Since it's github you know).

Basically, every user sends a (probably way more less) ~1 ko request to github pages which they replies with the site's content. (which you download around 10 Ko of html/css/js files)
To overflow a connection with this, there would need to be over 2 million of people to cause a noticeable lag. (2 Go) And this, would need to happen exactly at the same time.

Once you're connected to the site, you are no longer dealing with github pages since the html and everything got downloaded by your browser in cache.
Take note too that Javascript is client sided, so when you click the 'connect' button, it's your pc that is sending a connection request to moneypot and not flappybit. Meaning, the site literally don't handle any traffic (really that much to think about paying any hosting plan) but your own home internet connection does. So if you are lagging, it's probably because your internet is too slow or you are living way too far from the moneypot's server. Since I'm pretty sure that moneypot's server can handle a huge amount of traffic without any problem.

Hope that make you guys understand the things and the 'why' Smiley  (Just explaining since many people told me about getting a paid hosting plan when there is currently no reason on world to get one)

Of course... DDoS, is an other thing. but meh, if its big enough to bring people to spend time on attacking the dns servers... well, i'll just get an hosting plan then.

Little fix,

You will first need to connect in order to see the bet buttons/chat/bet logs.

You can now see the chat without having to be connected. About the bet history, moneypot doesn't allow me to do so.
I've also PM'd them asking to fix their bug regarding the bet's paths in the all_bets 'callback' from their side. But they haven't responded me in weeks. So I guess the new moneypot's owners doesn't care.

Still, flappybit is up at http://flappybit.com

Am I missing something here? I cant find any buttons to make a bet, cant see my balance in the page, even I cant see my own username unless I make a message on chat box.
Maybe adding FAQ page would be helpful for your new players.

As said on the first post:

Pretty simple; You can access the casino via this link: http://flappybit.com
You will now be able to connect, by clicking the "CONNECT" red button on the chat area, using you Moneypot account.
You can do 0 bits bets to try out the system. Any "massive" abuse of that might lead to a blockage of your account on flappybit.

Once you will be connected you will see also the last bets logs and the chat appearing as well as for the Deposit/Withdraw buttons.
When depositing, you will be able to deposit from your moneypot's account or to generate a deposit address.
When withdrawing, you can simply withdraw the balance you have on Flappybit to your moneypot balance.

You will first need to connect in order to see the bet buttons/chat/bet logs.
If when connecting you still can't see them, please open your browser's bebug console and report any bug/error message to me Wink

Also, the website was not made to be friendly with phone. Maybe someone will make a mobile version that i'll be able to merge but yet, I haven't planned to do one. (if you're trying to play from your phone)

Thanks for the report, waiting your response Smiley

Agreed, I just just stumble on lucky' before this. But I love the design and I saw in chat that a faucet is coming soon, which will help garner more attention. I would love to learn how to make sites like this.

Yeah man, domains are like $7 per year, sometimes you can get it for free with hosting. You really need to get a domain if you want to be taken seriously.

Yes, I do agree. You should spend little money before you try to make money.

Site design looks good so you can invest money to buy some decent domain name. The link looks like more suspicious to open your site. I opened your site only after reading many comments in this thread.

The link was pointing to a github page. Nothing suspicious about github in general since its a place where people store their code.
Also, honestly, I am not trying to make money, this thread is more like about to tell the people that flappybit is here again with better stuff. Again, made for a learning purpose and it's open sourced so other people can learn from it Grin

I do agree with your suggestion. He must invest some money first on his domain before start promoting it.

I already bought the domain. http://flappybit.com/
I also edited the first post replacing the links.

Wont you having any issues using the sprite + background?
Hey, care to give an answer to this question?

I've modified some files based on the original Flap bird, but I'm thinking the use of the sprites or the background isn't allowed, by the original creator/owner?

Woops! Sorry.
Well, to be honest, these aren't the official sprites taken from the game but remakes. Still hard to say with the billions of other flappybird app versions.
Even tho, according the Apple store TOS, once you remove your app (which the official flappybird app have been removed) you can not put it back there. So I guess there's is no copyrights to it anymore... I might be wrong...

Nice graphics Dexon!Though took me a while to figure out how it works lol I was expecting a flappy bird to drop instead of the coin for the pipe lol Although a faucet for a first few days won't be a bad idea. The two coins coming at the same time suppose to be a multiplayer right ?

Thanks!
The faucet idea isn't bad. I could include the moneypot's faucet easily.
And for the second question, I'm not sure to understand sorry  Huh

i must admit that the website looks pretty nice though its very similar to luckyb.it in the whole game idea, i guess i will still tyr it out and hopefully make some money on it

Thanks, I hope you will Grin

Although Plinko is nice but the former one would have been a better idea.

How are you going to do this?

Mostly by making an arrays of users that abuses it. Since it'll be client sided it's not gonna be really a big deal to bypass. But it'll help not spaming the moneypot network with meaningless bets.

And if you want some returning users. Now the only way somebody to play it twice is to bookmark it. Nobody will memorize it.
You can't asking for money (people to gambling with you) when you are not giving even for domain.

I'm not sure that the "only way" to play many times on flappybit is to bookmark the url... But I get your point.
Also, I am not asking for money. Just like the first version of the game, this was made in a learning purpose and I am not investing in the game.
But still, I think I'm putting the necessary effort into it tho Grin

If you can't even want to spend money for buying domain and hosting than quite difficult to survive in gambling business. You should be creating site like a professional than you can attract more people to your site. Anyway good luck to you.

Since it's only html/css/js I can let github pages host it. and made a CNAME file or something like that if, one day, I get a domain to link it to.
And thanks Smiley

Edit: Looks like is just like a plinkpot. i thought this like a flappybird...

I am sorry. I actually made a flappybird being a player vs player game. But the major thing was that people will use Bots to achieve the highest level so it wouldn't be fair to the other players. And there's no way to "catch" them. (when playing on the browser)

It doest matter at all since he is using moneypot then it doesnt matter wether he will be using .xyz domain or even a .com domain. There are many not popular .com apps in moneypot so it is a proof that domain name will not attract a user to play at the site. Besides that every deposits and withdrawals is through moneypot as well so players are completely safe

You can do 0 bits bets to try out the system. Any "massive" abuse of that might lead to a blockage of your account on flappybit.

How are you going to do this? As far as what Im aware of, moneypot control the user account and someone can always login to the site through moneypot. Also what do you consider as massive abuse anyway? Hundreds of 0 bits bet? If you are using moneypot I believe you are not even logging the database since it is all handled by moneypot

Hey every one, I'm here to announce that I remade my old Plinko casino game! It's now fully linked to Moneypot's api and using it's bankroll.
For those who doesn't know what Moneypot is, here is the link: https://www.moneypot.com ; Basically, moneypot is a public casino api where every casino shares the same bankroll.
So, after my previous thread : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.12047771, I decided to make a new thread since this is a new release. In fact, the last casino was "on-chain" and had many constraints towards the players... Which all these are now fixed thankfully to moneypot.
You will notice that the casino doesn't have it's old domain name due to some issues with my last host, more information at the end of the thread.
The game is still re-using the LuckyBit page style/layout on a flappy bird game design.

To play, it's quite simple. Deposit, place a bet and see the coin droping on a random multiplier (controlled by moneypot's provably fair system)
Once the coin reach a multiplier, your bet will be multiplied by it and you will receive the result as the reward.
For example, if you bet 2 bits and you reach 3x, you will receive 6 bits (so 4 bits of net profit)

Take note that 1 bit = a millionth of 1 btc (100 satoshi)
so 1,000,000 bits = 1 btc

There is some basic chat rules. Not respecting them will result to get your self muted for an unspecified delay.
Chat rules:
  • Harassment of any kind is not tolerated
  • Do not Spam
  • Don't post your bitcoin address unless someone explicitly ask for it
  • Do not share any private informations about someone(including you)

So about the domain name, I am sorry to say that my previous host actually scammed me. And since he is the owner of the domain name, I couldn't reuse it.
But, in a good way, that permitted me to learn more about gits and stuff. FlappyBit is now then completely open source there: https://github.com/Dexon95/flappybit
I will not be launching any giveaway promotion for the reopening... Sorry. I am not in the "rich" category of people and, again, this project is just about learning and having fun building it.

If you want more info or have some feedback, don't hesitate to let me know!

Thank you
