It is actually good! In India, bitcoin is generally seen in a bad light. This is happening because banks have shown bitcoin in a bad light to the common people. So those who doesn't have any knowledge of it, they see it as an asset to launder money and tax evasion. (If you are doubtful, speak to some random people about it)

So when a brand like flipkart shows it in one of their tweets, that certainly increases the credentials of bitcoin among the mass (even if it is a joke). Such kind of small efforts are actually very helpful for the bitcoin community in India.

An April fools today is probably a development 2 years from now 🤣. Posting a tweet like this on April Fools kinda feels like market research - it obviously might not be but there's a chance...
I suspect this is their market research 'lol'...
Entering the beginning of 2021, cryptocurrencies are attracting worldwide attention and are sure to attract major corporate companies. We only have to count the months or years until Flipkart announces that they officially accept BTC as payment.

Flipcart is one of the biggest & useable marketing online platform. Many thinks they are making people fool by announcing bitcoin.but look at the bright side, they are already taking online payments. May be in years, they will take bitcoin as a payment. Its all about time, who can say what will happen in future
There are some businesses that are teasing this kind of integration, they just timed it in a silly event so as to test if the people were going to green lit this kind of thing or if they really want it to happen. I think that Flipkart is definitely going to integrate bitcoin in their pay system but @Shawn20 is right, we don't know who can say what happens next.

This is the time for them to be part of the revolution of digital payment instead of making jokes, they should emulate other gaint companies who saw the future early and take action,

A couple of years ago they wouldn't have joked about it even, now they are starting to notice bitcoin as a viable payment option. Of course they are joking right now but they are also testing the waters and see what people think.
It may be a good thing that bitcoin is only on their radar instead of adding it because with the high fee situation that bitcoin has got going on it is not yet ready to be used as a payment on large scale. LN is also not quite ready to be used on larger scale (which is also affected by the on-chain fees).

Here in India, Flipkart is the largest e-Commerce firm, having a market share even greater than that of Amazon.in. They may be more open to accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment, but the government authorities are very hostile towards cryptocurrency and are proposing to make ownership of crypto a criminal offense which is punishable by up to 10 years in jail. For now, the Indian users can use the indirect method. They can purchase Flipkart gift cards for Bitcoin and then use these gift cards to make the purchases from Flipkart.

Another e-commerce giant flipkart tweeted that they are now accepting Bitcoin payments for it's customers which was on the occasion of April fools day and it's a joke but still they have recognised the need and in future they might be willing to accept it.

Although it was a joke but still they have mentioned the word "future of payments" with reference to Bitcoin and it has already made an impact on large people's mind because of their huge customer base with million of them viewing that tweet.
