At the beginning of the month, we announced that we are working intensively on introducing end-to-end encrypted user messages.
We are excited to announce that we have implemented end-to-end encryption of user messages. Messages can only be read by trading partners and - if any of the trading partner open a dispute - by the arbitrator. This is important because buyers and sellers may exchange private payment information and they should have total control over who and when can read them. In addition, we remind you that approximately 180 days after the transaction ends, encrypted messages are removed from our database, although they may still exist in backups.
We use technology similar to Signal, WhatsApp, or Telegram. It is worth recalling that Signal was recommended by Edward Snowden.
