Does the site collect GST (Goods and Service Tax) on booked tickets even when paid in cryptocurrency? What is the present GST rate on flight tickets which will be added to the ticket total if being collected?

Yes the default taxes are included in the ticket price and displayed on the website and in eTicket as well.

Tickets          |          GST

Economy                    5%

Business                    12%

Booking flights does not involve just a few bucks but a whole lot of money. Would like to know about the agreement or authorization you have with the airlines or their agent so that we can trust you. Do not take it personally, as I have nothing against you, but should be transparent for the sake of your business as well.

We understand however cant reveal and publish about the third party we have contract with, for providing flight tickets. We can make it public once beta phase is over.

Hint: Its one of India's best B2B travel provider.  Wink

Exactly my point, when people make travel and hotel arrangements on the internet, it means putting you life in the hands of a complete stranger in which I don't think anyone can afford doing no matter the discount without having a confirmation that its safe to do so. And this is the reason why most business like this grapple to survive and the trust needs to be built in gradual way in which most promoters are not patient enough to wait for.

That's a good effort and I'm not sure about the success of it, because world popular Expedia which provides similar service all around took back it's bitcoin acceptance in a short as they didn't profit big.

Thanks for the appreciation Smiley

The website works only from 10 AM to 10 PM IST until beta phase is over, so taking a screenshot to answer your question for the page: https://flybit.in/bitcoin-payments/

And we don't care who did what earlier.

Its a damn cool idea. From the exchange rate indicated it seems to be an indian origin website. I am wondering about the taxes that gets added on a flight booking and whether one will have to pay for it or not. A group of people has been deployed by Indian government to get a report on bitcoin. It will take around 3 months.Lets hope for the best.

Yes its an Indian origin website.

Taxes which are applicable on any air ticket are included by default, fare break up is shown before you actually pay and actual taxes are displayed on the eTicket.

Yes lets hope for the best!  Smiley
