That was my intention... "exponential" is just a word... I like many think I understand it till I see it explained in a totally ridiculous example such as folding paper 103 times.

It has everything to do with bitcoin... I think its a thing of wonder how the hashing power of the network is growing so fast yet its not all come crashing down in a burning inferno.  Talk about scaling to the max.

This is not relevant to Bitcoin at all. I could find just about any graph showing exponential growth that looks like the growth of BTC mining.
I think the OP was trying to show how the hashrate of the network and the network difficulty has been growing at an exponential rate

There is a good article that explains exponential growth.  If you do the math to work out the thickness of paper as you fold it, fold it 103 times and its as thick as the entire universe!

Whats really really funny, take a look at the graph at the very end of the comments, it looks like the bitcoin mining graph since 2009... oh dear  Grin
