This is a very smart move by Juventus FC, in this way they can advertise their coins to many people at a very low cost.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a very famous person, if he will keep the JUV coin, the reputation of the coin will increase greatly.

This is only a marketing strategy to promote Chiliz and JUV tokens, Ronaldo is indeed the right person to create the hype for Chiliz and JUV tokens.
Although I believe this give away will not make Ronaldo interested in using crypto. For the salary payments Ronaldo got from Juventus, I'm sure
if he want to be paid in crypto, Ronaldo will definitely choose Bitcoin which is indeed more popular. But still this is good news, because it can make
Chiliz's volume increase and make the JUV token price also go up. I'm sure JUV token holders are very happy with this news, making JUV tokens
even more popular and is expected to attract Juventus fans to invest in JUV tokens.

This is not only good for Juventus FC but good news for crypto, and using Cristiano to be the brand ambassador will surely get them some serious exposure and marketing based on how much of an influencer CR7 is, though i wonder what this coin can do and how much value this Juv coin will fetch?

Is this coin exclusive to Juventus or we can get it from an exchange...
The use of fan tokens could be exaggerated, currently those who have the most tokens have greater influence in the polls that appear on the socios app (for now they are trivial things but who knows if in the future the fans will be able to decide together with the coach the formation team)
the tokens are on sale on the socios app and on binance.

I was thinking where these controversies stem up when it clearly says that they gifted Cristiano Ronaldo some fan tokens and why would everyone think about the rest getting paid in crypto. Looks like everyone is bored sitting at home and they just want to brew something  Cheesy. May be they will be gifting players but to send their salary in crypto it is their choice and i doubt they will do that.
Looks like the OP is exaggerating things as i could not find any controversy, Juventus has a fan token Juv token and they gave Cristiano Ronaldo around $11k worth of their token and he wont probably need those coins as he is making millions playing the game and additional millions through advertisement and his brand and these giveaway was to promote their token  Grin.

This is truely a omg news. I just saw this news. And feel how can i missed this type of news. This is not only just a news this is a boom strategy to make the market booom. Well, do you want to ask how? Okay then let me clarify, guys we can use this type of news to market more about bitcoin. We know that football is a game which has a 90-99% fanbase all over the World. I think their has a little bit bad luck person who didn't like football. So if a football club accept bitcoin then we can use it and tell the world that see how football is accepted bitcoin but you guys still thought about bitcoin. Learn from your favourite football club. So what do you think guys lets make it through social media.

What are your thoughts on this?
If other players are also accepting cryptocurrency payments then I think they'll choose Bitcoin or something with a large volume of transactions.
Simply put, these coins can be easily sold for cash.
Conversely, if they sell cryptocurrencies from the project of the club they are playing in, it will make it difficult for the coin itself. No one will believe in a coin that the people at the club don't want to keep either.

You are wrong if you look at the JUV token at the moment, the price is $ 14, just relatively young, but has already shown good profit. I think that the fan and the speculators will be good at promoting the project. After all, if you closely follow the JuventusFC news, you will be able to predict the price. By the way, they have 9 million subscribers on Twitter) I think this is a good advertisement.
The JUV coin looks very good and many people want it. However, if people can choose, they will choose bitcoin.
Anyway, bitcoin is king of the cryptocurrency market, it's accepted everywhere.

I think this is old news. I see already that this fan token has been for Juventus since two years,,, if anyone can remember when the stadium used to be full and if you watch the match they sometimes show on the big screen the token nameit's  along with the Players every time they show up or if they score.

Ronaldo does not care about these tokens he has agents to take care of them:)
Why do you say it's an old news? Bitcoin is here for more than a decade now, and when someone is paid in bitcoins nobody says it's an old news. Yes Chiliz and the JUV token aren't brand new but that doesn't mean every news related to them are old. I think it's the first time a big player is rewarded with a fan token, it's maybe the last time but maybe just the beginning of a new era who knows? The future of those coins is very uncertain.

They need to keep up with their promotional activities in order for them to gain more followers. Chiliz and JUV have been here for quite some time already, and actually, they are one of the sports-related blockchain projects that have solid foundation. I believe, it will not be the first fan token that will people talk about. It is just the beginning for them. Sports fans are now getting acquainted with crypto and this will be good for the crypto community.

Juventus gave to Ronaldo some tokens that of course his manager will dump immediately. There are reasons for clubs to introduce tokens but most will not. Especially not tokens in Ethereum network which will require for fans to pay double in fees. This is like ripping off the supporters of the club.

I think this is more of a coin promotion than a reward.
Apparently Juventus FC had a very wise strategy to advertise this coin. Instead of spending millions of dollars to advertise the project to the public they only spend a very small amount to attract fans to this coin.

If that was their plan all along, they it worked because it sure sparked a lot of community interests and attention on the media release.  I am also not sure that this would be the last time that we would be seeing similar gestures by Juventus and maybe other clubs  like Roma, Atletico Madrid and more will follow suit since they have fan tokens too like Juventus.  Clubs won't adopt crypto payments anytime soon. Paperwork alone will take time as crypto markets is still too volatile.
Yes, through such action Juventus FC successfully introduced their coin to the users.
In the future, every time Cristiano Ronaldo wins a goal, everyone will hear the name of the JUV coin once more

Agreed this is a marketing strategy and nothing more to promote their useless tokens, why people need to use those tokens when bitcoin is available and it can be acquired almost everywhere around the world?

And their marketing strategy worked, this news helped push up the CHZ price.
Chiliz price today is $ 0.554665, up 14.0% in the last 24 hours.
Chiliz is not the best platform but they have a good marketing team. Smiley

As cryptocurrency continues to witness widespread of institutional adoption the latest is, over the weekend Juventus FC choosed to gift it player Cristiano Ronaldo 770 of it fans tokens afterhe made a career goal,  this singler action have spark so many controversy over the internet as fans wonders if all other players will choose to get their payments in crypto.

These kind of fan token are the earlier version of the NFT concept. Has no value outside but the value is seen when used within the pre-specified eco-system. It can be considered like a bonus for the player but moreover it is a strategy to build and increase the value of the token (obviously only to the fans). It doesn't make sense outside of the eco-system.

I don't see that footballers will take their payment in such tokens ever. because if it happens, then the cost of running an entire football club will become nearly free for the club management. They will create new tokens and distribute among the footballers as a salary. The footballers may be interested in receiving the salary in bitcoin or some other popular cryptocurrency, but definitely not in a currency that has no value outside the specific eco-system! Just doesn't work for the multi-millionaire footballers.

It only matters of time until sports gets conquered by crypto, after all which sports team don't want to create their own token while also could make profit from it. As much as people hates NFT or tokens because it's too overpriced and too overrated but NFT and tokens has succesfully help us opens up crypto adoption in many sectors like art and sport and next maybe gaming industry due to its simplicity of deploying a token.

It is a good news for football club adoption and with this trend, more big clubs will join cryptocurrency and release their tokens.

There are some football club tokens on the market and their price are related to reputation of clubs. The relationship looks to be true, except PSG for Paris Saint German. The club does not have big history but they have a good squad now, one of the best in the Europe and people bet on the future of PSG and its token. It has a highest price above $19 than the rest three tokens: JUV, ASR and ACM.

I think it's great news. It just proves that the world is more ready to accept the change. More adoption to cryptocurrencies the merrier. However, in this case, people don't need to be too worry thou'. I think Juventus just testing the water by giving some rewards to Christiano Ronaldo. It's not a salary For God's sake, why so bitter. They need to chill. I just hope someday Cristiano Ronaldo could also a figure that would hype cryptocurrencies. That would be some help for the crypto sphere lol.

The marketing is very effective, especially when we know that fans or supporters of a large team, especially Juventus, certainly have high loyalty, by marketing the coin instead of rewarding one of the players will make the coin more known and more developed.

We've seen a lot of athletes now asking for payments in crypto so this doesn't surprised me at all. There's no controversy, and I will say that this is a good publicity for crypto in the long run. And as long as teams are willing to pay their athletes with crypto then why not? it's a win-win situation. And there are no controversy here, again this is inadvertently marketing for us.

it's totally needed as people can visit the real news directly on the site.

BTW, it's very good to see that CR7 received its token as payment. I hope that if ronaldo will be tweeting or create a publication about that. That could help a lot for the marketing purpose for cryptocurrency.
it's not only juve coin but whole coins can be affected by this too. We know that how popular ronaldo in the world.

...this singler action have spark so many controversy over the internet as fans wonders if all other players will choose to get their payments in crypto.
What are your thoughts on this?
Tbh, I don't quite see any reason why this should spark any controversy or debate, the gesture to Ronaldo was a gift, an appreciation to mark his landmark achievement and not payment of his salary or wages, cryptocurrencies are well and truly more popular, Bitcoin at least, as people now believe more in the network, but AFAIK, I don't think footballers would fancy the idea of earning their salaries in cryptocurrencies (volatility being one reason), and it wasn't even Bitcoin that Ronaldo was given, but a mere fan token, even if they are ever to choose to be paid in crypto, it'll definitely be Bitcoin.
Yes you're right I think it's just a marketing ploy to advertise Chiliz fan tokens and their platform Socios.com. But I don't think players will accept contracts from their teams paid in cryptos, especially in fan tokens even if they seem to be tradable against BTC and USDT on Binance https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/juventus-fan-token/markets/
Agreed this is a marketing strategy and nothing more to promote their useless tokens, why people need to use those tokens when bitcoin is available and it can be acquired almost everywhere around the world?

However we have seen some players in other professional sports being paid in bitcoin, and not a small amount but their entire salaries so I really think this is going to become a reality especially for those that are smart as they will see in bitcoin not only a valuable asset but an insurance policy in case their careers are cut short.

It would be a better idea if Ronaldo is a crypto guy and understands the concepts of it. In my understanding, this is like a giveaway to him and with certain small limited number, it's going to be rare in their perspective.
But it should be a better cryptocurrency if they have just given bitcoin instead if they're going to pursue crypto payments.
