Hi all!

I'm Gary. I'm a Developer and Linux Systems Engineer, and have been working mostly in a startup-like culture for the past six years or so. I've recently immigrated to the United States (east coast), so I'm no longer full-time employed and as such I'm looking for freelance/contract opportunities that can be done remotely. I'm also able to volunteer my time to charities and non-profits.

I've worn many hats for my work, and I love trying my hand at anything new. My specific interests include software development, automation, information security, IPv6, Free & Open Source software, scalable & highly available infrastructure, Node.js and AWS. Some things I can't help with are mobile (iOS/Android) apps or creating new coins.

Some of the technologies I'm most capable with include:

* Languages: Javascript (Node.js), Ruby, PHP, Python, Bash, HTML with CSS & Javascript (and maybe some Perl if you twist my arm hard enough)
* Platforms: Linux (Debian and RHEL-based distros), Apache, MySQL, Node.js, Vagrant, GIT, SVN, OpenVPN, PHP, Nagios, Jenkins, Nginx, MongoDB, Puppet, Graphite, Collectd, PowerDNS, BIND, Wordpress
* Services: Edgcast, GitHub, Google Apps, Pingdom, Linode, DigitalOcean, CacheFly, GoGrid
* Amazon Web Services: EC2, ELB, AutoScaling, Route53, S3, RDS, SES, CloudWatch, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudFront, VPC, Ruby and Javascript SDKs

I'm happy to provide references, resume, LinkedIn and/or GitHub on request. I'm also flexible as far as hours and payment terms (hourly, set fee etc) go.

If you think I could be of some help, I'm happy to Skype, email, phone etc following PM, or you can find me on IRC/Freenode at the same nick (probably lurking in #bitcoin).

Cheers.
