CPU's that have the AES-NI (Advanced Encryption Standard - New Instructions) Set are very efficient for mining MemoryCoin and getting started on Windows is very easy.

1. Install from MSI - http://www.memorycoin.org/downloads/memorycoin.msi
2. Click Settings -> Launch Pool Miner
3. Wait a few hours for your first payment

4. You can trade your MemoryCoin for your crypto of choice at Bter - https://bter.com/trade/mmc_btc
(Of course I think your crypto of choice should be MemoryCoin, but that's up to you)

You'll need quite a modern CPU - you can check if your CPU supports AES-NI here -

That's an 8 physical integer core CPU designed to execute one thread per physical core. Only if your arc has a pipeline that is never effectively saturated and a simple ALU that hopes to make use of irregularly presented free instructions does it make sense to run more than 1 per physical integer core.

It's not going to use even close to 200 watts at full load unless you're nearing 5 ghz.

TDP does not and never has equaled peak draw ....

I don't know what all that means, but GPU owners are reporting that their GPU rooms are feeling cooler of late.

just noticed, that is actually true. need to turn on the heater in my basement now. no wonder i feel colder since last night. Cheesy

For threads, you've got to use a power of 2 - so either 8 or 16 - you'll need to run it from the command line to set the number. Use 8 for one instance, and 4 for another to get to 12.

Thank you.  I still think it is a pretty fair game.  CPU and gpu are in the same playground. Consider r9 280 is all sold out. It is never on sale, in bundle or any deal alert throughout shopping season.  Also gpu player at least has another 200 spent on psu. although, I wish 200 CPU has the same hash rate as 200 gnu.  That will be awesome. But nothing is perfect.

I will definitely try that in the morning for now I will give it a test run of 16threads. I have Xeon so the performance should be quite good. I have also decided to make a test run with my 7950. Although that being said I would like to learn more about the currency before I fully commit. Is your homepage the best place to learn about the currency?

Best place to start - your GPU should do nicely too.
