I think this is due to the novelty of the phenomenon of the ico. No regulation and therefore too much a scam. I think once the SEC starts regulating all newly settled.

The only ICO that has really really paid of for investors is the ICO to start Ethereum itself. The others are nothing more than rehashed whitepapers seeking to get money and squander it.

As for me, I think, I've found an ICO, which is interesting for me  , and I see their perspectives.. But as for me they require better marketing indeed, maybe improve their website look and I hope they'll develop their product in the future. The project is reOrder. Why am I interested? I can clearly see what me personally as a crazy traveler with kids could "earn" from it ( I mean from the project) and they're open for improvement suggestions. They invented a device, which rather looks like a tablet to install on the tables in cafes, restaurants, hotels' lobby and rooms ... Its main feature is that you can make an order and not need to wait for a waiter, pay for it via crypto, and if you don't have a crypto wallet yet, you can easily, as they say, create it via their system. Pretty cute is their readiness to offer discout for paying via crypto I'm still following them and communicating with them, but this device is pretty unique though pos terminals are can be found in various cafes, but unfortunately you cannot pay via crypto,,, especially abroad....

yes, good idea is important, but few people including professional investing institute can hardly know it at this time, the amrket is cruel as so many new coins appear everyday, a good performance market will give the team much money and reputation, then they can hire the talents to work on this project if the team intend to do real work, this is a good circle, marketing will give more things than idea

I totally agree. And the good ideas need good marketing. THey must be spread by influencers ( if people do trust them) and clearly explained and visualized. It's extremely important, as for me, to show the potential users // investors what can be done with this projcet/product, which issues can be released, what can be reached in the near future in frames of this project...

I think there should be some regulation in ICO atleast in bitcointalk announcement there should be some person really validate ICO before announcing in Thread. There is lots of ICO are scam Some are really promising but fails in some legal term or Marketing . Like protostar ICo failed because of US law . Huntbet  ICO failed becuae of poor market strategy . Some really looks good but End Up with Scam like Adcoin some initially fails and it will be rated scam . So everything should be regulated.

Well actually it is, the best idea even if connected with RL value wont get realized in 99% of cases if there is not professional marketing and proper budget. The advantage of marketing is used by many scam projects. There you see how important marketing is. I agree that new ideas and so on are needed, but in today's time with 1000+ coins and dozens of icos per week I would say no marketing = no success... I know its sad...

I totally agree. Investments could be beneficial for personal profits, but I think true investments is for the team that would lead to benefits for everyone. I am looking for ICO's that would be actually practical in real life. Do you have any ICO's in mind? I'm still searching for a good ICO with a good philosophy, backed by a good team. I agree with you and I'd like to add a very simple advice. If you consider some of ICOs as an investment, do imagine could it be useful personally for you in your work or home activity. If no, don't let the marketing specialists lead you into a shitty project.

Good thoughts here. I agree - it is not about marketing, it about the actual service the coin will be used for and how likely the coin will be used more in the future. That is what drives prices higher...use!

I do have the same feeling. So many ICOs ... But you can hardly find a project with transparent targets which will unite people and work as a strong chain in the new economic structure. But never give up, a structure will be crystallized, it requires time.
When looking for an ICO, I would rather ask myself - what am I looking for? What can I personally use in my daily life , what my kids might enjoy in their lives , and how the project can make living more easier, safer and happier. First of all , we have to think that this system will be used by the next generation (as a perfect long term perspective), new projects clearly understand how ready are they for the future developement, how flexible their leaders think and can adjust it to the predictable situations in the future.

If you are looking at a long-term investment there is nothing to be worried about. I may be saying this as a totally naive person, but look at where the start of Bitcoin has brought us. The mechanism of Ethereum is truly worth investing, isn't it? Technology is developing and I just hope people don't find this as a short-term investment market, but look at the technology itself and see its potentials.

The new upcoming ICO's truly have very interesting ideas. Some, however, seem to lack logic and may seem like a bluff.

Now is the time to look for a strong idea, not a strong ICO. Marketing strategies may make a strong uprise in the market making it look like a good ICO to invest, but the idea and team behind the scene are what actually makes it happen.

I know many people already have this in mind but I just wanted to make sure I'm on the same page, and I also want to see how people really think about the current situation.
