Now, we are very familiar about issues of corruption specially in the government.
I was just surprised that these agents were very confident not to get caught.
In my opinion, they should be punished worse than Ulbricht.
When you look at corruption in government, this is really small in scale.
The small fry got caught. If real corruption (kickbacks in infrastructure and defence contracts) was paid in Bitcoin, the price will go to the moon.
There are other threads on this topic (Fed agents). The title is misleading.
The fact that government agents feel that it is okay to take advantage of such situations is much more important than whether or not the crime is "small." There is absolute disdain and even outright hostility among government types whe it comes to bitcoin. The real surprise to me is that they were actually prosecuted. OOf course in their eyes that bitcoin belonged to the US government so maybe it isn't surprising after all.
