The association has a very good intention to help the nation who are under or suffering from calamities but most of this countries are not really distributing the aid to the poorest of the poor, I can say this because in our country there's plenty of politics and corruption is very rampant.

The more the aid has been distributed the more they will make money and people who are expecting for the help are not getting the right aid for them. It was just now that under the new government, corrupt officials has been eliminated as that is his mission and if possible not to rely on foreign aid if we still can live with our own funds.

Thats correct. It has good Intention but corruption is rampant that it barely reach to the intended constituents and if ever reach, just a small amount is left to start a project. If a project is started, possible that it will be finish and left hanging.

Aid is often ate up by admin paper work, corrupt management and people along the way.
For the most part these aid groups give themselves a lot of pats on the back but pull out as soon as it is unsafe, which is often.

Some of these Countries the aid is actually more a bribe than actual help to the current regime.

Still Corruption issues. Remember Haiti ?

Haitians are desperate for help. But they don’t want it from the American Red Cross.

So over 46 years they have received $ billions of free money, shouldn't they be in a position to stand on their own 2 feet by now?

Or is free money expected indefinitely?

I wholeheartedly agree and I remember reading an almost identical socialist topic elsewhere in this forum not long ago. I don't see why there would be an obligation of richer countries to send money to poorer ones. And I don't think that it is even useful to do so.

Many developing countries have structural problems that can't be solved with money or external aid. Funds send to these countries vanish in deeply rooted networks of corruption or evaporate in projects that are abandoned by the local population once external help to operate them is withdrawn.

Donations for developing countries should only be made if the money flows into projects that have been started out of self-initiative of the local population. In addition, money shouldn't be given for free - it should be investment capital. Free donations don't encourage initiative to master obstacles and become self-sufficient, instead free donations encourage dependency on external help.

Foreign Aid For Development Assistance :
In 1970, the world’s rich countries agreed to give 0.7% of their gross national income as official international development aid, annually.

Since that time, billions have certainly been given each year, but rarely have the rich nations actually met their promised target.

For example, the US is often the largest donor in dollar terms, but ranks amongst the lowest in terms of meeting the stated 0.7% target.
