Faced first hand the disadvantage of having different password for different platforms or medias
Don't let this experience sway you towards bad password habits. It's a very good thing to use a different password for each online account. I mean, it's almost a given that you'll be affected by a data breach at some point, and when that happens, you don't want it to cascade into multiple problems, and you really don't want it to result in your e-mail account(s) getting compromised, too, because then you're up shit creek without even a canoe.

Haven't found a proper solution yet but I believe am more tempered than before.
Use a password manager. (An offline one like KeePassXC, and remember to back up the database file once in a while, too.) Smiley
Roger that cheif.
Never tried password manager but will do now
Always thought it could be easily compromised but I'm just learning there are offline ones now.

Okay the issue of me not been answered since then came from me
Surprised it was
Turns out the email I sent was of a signed message by princejebs which I used as a format in how messag are signed.
Before finding out there was one by Theymos which I later used.
Thanks Rizzrack for clarifying
Was surprised when you said I was princejebs.

Doesn't show where you posted the "compromised" address

I never knew this was possible so usually just copy the address and send without confirming much. Well turns out that was a big mistake on my part. Never knew that clipboard can do such. I don't know if it's a malware, I ended up using an address that wasn't mine and funny holds some units of Bitcoin.

Still confused how something like this could happen,  but try to be cautious and don't feel too lazy to cross check your address before sending or posting. Recall Bitcoin transactions are irreversible after 6 confirmations, once confirmed it's gone. You can tell the wallet address it went to but not the owner. Except they are careless,  which I doubt they are.
For some reason, this links to some Chinese thread. Click on it and see for yourself.

This is from Altcointalk.

Let me rephrase...is Ambatman is the only account you created/used ?
No the IP of the other was consider evil
Something of such nature.
So used VPN to create ambatman

And another I used before for sometime
So No its not.

This is my humble assessment on the matter:

You used to have another account, Princejebs, that got banned. And allegedly besides a few other accounts ... you created Ambatman.

Even though ...

having two account is not a crime

... ban evading is.

You can try harder to remember the email address used and just reset the password for Ambatman. But then again with more accounts it can get tricky to remember all the login credentials.

Let me know what's your take on this.
I saw another thread created by Ambatman and he was directed to continue discussing here. That's how I discovered this thread.
@Rizzrack, I think the case of account recovery is different from ban evasion. If Ambatman has successfully proven that the lost account belongs to him, it might be fine to help him recover the account first, then report to mods for possible ban evasion. Unless you have the ability to nicely handle both.

No I can't
My phone was affected by a malware without my knowledge and even lost my campaign money on winz at Altcointalk to it.
Evidence

Where you ever in control of the BTC address at some point before the "malware" attack? A Yes or No answer could help for the next step of action. Recovery is a sensitive process and there's a reason Rizzrack is asking you those questions. You just have to be honest and be straight forward with your answers.
No
It was never mine
The malware changes any address i copy to another similar to the copied one.

when I asked for a change of address.

When I copy and paste and address i usually just check the first letters without knowing there was a difference
I realised that when I made a transaction from an address of mine to another
And waiting a day without getting it
I had to check the address and saw the dissimilarities
Tried copying and pasting and found what I copied was different from what I pasted
And the only way to get the original is checking my copy log.

Thanks for your time.

me forgeting my password is as a result of using always logged and
Not using the password always caused me to forget the password I used.
I just checked the account princejebs is a bounty hunter and seems to have posted alot on gambling board.
I barely know a thing about gambling as can be seen in my post sections
I only started because most campaigns require it.
Besides I'm Nigerian and am not sure princejebs is from Africa.

Okay just checked a post and found they might be Nigerian.

Keeping aside issues about IP addresses and anything else, you have signed a message seven days ago yet your account access has not been not been granted. We all know these things can take time but usually when a message is signed it strengthens the case and should expedite the process. We do not know, there could be other factors playing out in your case that could be causing delays (as well as admin availability) but you should consider asking them for an update.

.

How on earth would you use an email that isn't in your custody for an account on BTT? What was he thinking?.. Secondly, has he not linked any of his phone numbers to the email?  That's a very easy recovery path as they'd send an OTP through his phone numbers for validation.
Is there anything more than can be done before I can get an answer?

You just gotta wait for the admins to make their decisions. Maybe you can send PMs through to them for more visibility..
the email was created and logged on my previous phone until it got faulty that required flashing.
I didn't want to use my main emails because I never thought I would be in the forum for such a long time
Joining was more like a curiosity.
Sorry for off topic but... did you also have any other account that might have been banned by mods at some point ?  Roll Eyes

Given that the OP himself admits that he is quite careless because obviously bad things happen to him, if he manages to get access to his BTT account I hope that he will change his attitude towards sensitive information. Otherwise, something similar will happen to him, it's just a matter of time.
To be honest, I never thought he forgot his password and lost access to his email.. First thing that came into my mind when I saw the thread (without reading through) was that he forgot his password and tried the recovery route, and it wasn't responding... That alone kept me pondering, not until I read through the context today.

I think you will have to be patient, because such things are very sensitive, and only a few people work on them - who also have their own real life. In addition, you are certainly not the only one who has a similar problem, so you will obviously have to wait for your turn.
well I guess I won't be the only one in such situation. Thanks.

Well, things no matter how simple can still time to resolve but you find yourself at a big disadvantage because if I understand correctly, you cannot verify your email address because you do not know which one you used and not only that you do not know your password to access the forum either.

Unfortunately, you will have to wait for admin to make a decision but there is no guarantee you will be given access to the account in question. It is at their discretion. Not all account recoveries are granted but the signed message should help in your favour.

Sigh
Does it always take this long when facing issues like this  Sad

I created an email account specifically for BTT and used same password.
Damn , thats the baddest thing you can do for using the same password for the forum and the email.
Always use for everything where a password is needed a different one.
It's one of worst practice in password use but it is very common seen in newbies. First, don't use (reuse) a same password for different accounts on different platforms. Second, always use a strong password. Sum up, always use unique and strong passwords.

I always wonder how it is possible to forget/lose the password and also the e-mail associated with the BTT account at the same time Huh
If you get older and dont have written down your Password and all related stuff for it , its possible.
Specialy when you are here for years or have an older Account registered with some absence.

You have to admit to yourself that you shot yourself in the foot. If you didn't keep your password and email, you risked it every day. Memory will always play against us in this matter. Just like you can store your seed phrases and other important things, this incident should shake you up and change your thinking that saving data that is important to you should never be left for later.

I always wonder how it is possible to forget/lose the password and also the e-mail associated with the BTT account at the same time Huh

Given that the OP himself admits that he is quite careless because obviously bad things happen to him, if he manages to get access to his BTT account I hope that he will change his attitude towards sensitive information. Otherwise, something similar will happen to him, it's just a matter of time.

I'm the user Ambatman and I just found out I don't know my password anymore
After clicking log out instead of more at the homepage
To make matter worse I can't recall the email I used in connecting the account.
That's the strangest thing I'm hearing after a long time, I know a user can forget his/her password but it's really strange that OP has forgot his email as well. I'm not sure how account recovery works but I believe there's a way to solve the issue of the OP.

OP what if the administration team sends you details about your e-mail, will you be able to reset your password yourself then? How you also forget the password of that e-mail address that you used to create account on this forum?

I mean most people remember their e-mail passwords as they mostly use same passwords for emails, and if you might get knowledge about your e-mail address then you should most probably be able to login to that e-mail address of yours and recover your password.

wow took the OP 14 days to get their account that's alot.
There's no harm in me still trying though?
He's actually lucky he recovered his account, I am not sure if you will have some luck, especially when you have no access or remember your email address. It's the one you are supposed to use to write to the team behind account recoveries
Sigh hopefully. If I had access to my email there wouldn't be any need for this
I would have just used forgotten password.

I never even considered forgetting it an option
Well the last time I made use of the password should be last year.

Just helping you to let people know how old the account is. To have an older address, it is better you stake your bitcoin address. This will help you to have in mind to backup the seed phrase or private key for a ong term purpose like this.

Can you also sign a message with address like this that I see as your oldest address on this forum: Re: [OPEN] Utopia P2P - Official Android Review Campaign (Newbie - Legendary) bc1qdz2q720pwsav0cxwneyhfhy8wdjll5p0pjksru. This will give more evidence that you are Ambatman.

I just check the account profile through Ninjastic.space and i noticed that about 5 different address mentioned and used by op for his various activities and most times it's always required the first address associated with the account to get it restored but let see, since he said he has no access to the wallet then the closest can be used to restore the account so easily but i think it would take time for theymos or any admin look over it.

that was a compromised addressed
My phone was affected by a malware then but later found out around April after joining a winz campaign on Altcointalk.
I even created a topic on it.
But I can sign this but it's the address I option for later on on Altcointalk bc1qf8990j7cm2cus90p0xu9rz3gmaxhre3hwl7t4k
Altcointalk is a different forum therefore verification from the address you posted there might not be accepted.
The address mentioned was also used by the OP to apply for several campaign several months ago on bitcointalk. So OP can certainly prove ownership of his account by signing the message from the address above. Then from that, there are several other addresses that the OP also posted on the bitcointalk forum, which can also help.

You can find several different addresses here:

When I saw this thread Please Recover My account, I had to go and recheck if I still had access to my email. The guy has the same problem of forgotten password and inability to access the recovery email. I have read that we cannot trust our brain because it can fail us at any time. Some health, psychological, or even natural effects can make retrieving information from the brain difficult. So writing our passwords and email and keeping them safe offline could be helpful. The OP of the thread I referenced got back his account, hopefully you will get back yours.

Okay before creating this thread I tried checking for one where such issues are reported but unfortunately found non except the guidelines by Theymos.
Let me get straight to it
I'm the user Ambatman and I just found out I don't know my password anymore
After clicking log out instead of more at the homepage
To make matter worse I can't recall the email I used in connecting the account.

I sent a message to [email protected] and haven't seen any response ever since
So had to create an alt to bring my problem out.
I even signed a message (for the first time)
Since it's like a requirement to prove that am the owner of the account.

Code:
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Ambatman and I forgot my password
-----BEGIN BITCOIN SIGNATURE-----
Version: Bitcoin-qt (1.0)
Address: bc1qpveu4qw7ttaaqjy5a3zpkyxcjksdyp400kez0h

-----END BITCOIN SIGNATURE-----
The wallet address can be found in this campaign I applied for here

Bitcointalk Profile link : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile
Current amount of posts(including this one) : 380
BTC Address(segwit) for Payout:bc1qpveu4qw7ttaaqjy5a3zpkyxcjksdyp400kez0h
EARNED merit in the last 120 days: 55 merits

Thanks.
