ForkUSD is a much better alternative to the now defunct ByteUSD, as it is just simply a config file to use with ForkNote, instead of a (unintended) Linux-only standalone binary.
What if the US Dollar was a CryptoNote coin, that increases value over time upon deflation and block reward decrease? What if the US Dollar could be easy to mine by any average computer? What if the US Dollar was decentralized, as it was meant to be, for a country that is meant to be free?
That was what the original ByteUSD was aiming to accomplish. Sadly, it is gone, because of some mess-ups in the Blockchain due to how I misconfigured the binary. But I have ressurected the idea again, with ForkUSD.
