I guess he was actually using himself as a case study when he made the statement about bitcoin being used to promote corruption. As a corrupt individual, he should know alot about how corruption spreads. No wonder he could only see something negative in bitcoin. Corruption strives everywhere, infact the FIAT they are holding on to has been used over the decades for criminal activities, if bitcoin is being used by criminals too, it is not because bitcoin was created for that purpose.

Tears means nothing at this point, bad politicians should face the consequences of their actions.

It is really disgusting to see people who are criminals accuse others of thesame crime. This is hypocrisy of the highest order and such people deserve to be punished. Senator Bob Menendez deserve to go to jail for being a pretending criminal. Politicians in my country have the culture of calling those in power criminals meanwhile they stole heavily when when they were in the corridor of power. Sometimes, I don't blame them, their attack on Bitcoin is born out of ignorance.

This means that if you want to filter out a lot (but not all) horrible people, you should start a city where all the transactions are conducted using cryptocurrency.

Sadly, this is the reality of politics in our country and the world at large. People who are voted into power to manage our economic resources and distribute them evenly, so that our country can continue to grow, end up looting them for their personal interests. It's just because he's caught, and that's why he's been sentenced. And if they're not strict about it, he might try to buy his way out, because I keep we hear instances of politicians being apprehended, and very soon the news dies down, and they manage to leave the country with their families.

I can only pray that things get better, and that emerging leaders will actually care about the people more than they care about their own pockets. it's normal for politicians to take a little something for themselves when they get into office, but at least they should also care for the citizens, rather than just packing money away without considering the people's cries for help. It's really sad, and its the reality of our government today.

In response to the crime Nayib Bukele the President of El Salvador said "The thief Judges by his condition". He, Menendez and the wife, took hundreds of thousands of dollars in form of gold, cash and luxury convertible from Wael Hana and Fred Diablies who are business men and used his political power to aid the Egyptian government, the former senator's wife is not yet tried because she is undergoing treatment for breast cancer, so hers will be coming up soon.

While pleading for mercy he broke down crying talking about the good things he's done for people in the US, and how he's served the government very well. However all he said made no changes the Judge told him to report to prison in 72 hours.

It's just crazy that most people who criticize other people's work are the real bad one in the society and uses all that blames on others to cover for their evil dids.
