Hello. I would like to know if i can have more than one account on Bitcointalk Forum (maybe an IP issue...). Is it allowed?

And is it allowed to sell Forum accounts here?

Thanks.

Absolutely yes to both I believe. There are some things that are frowned upon though.

Is it just admins or do global moderators have access to IP addresses also?
Admins only. In these cases we usually wait for theymos to confirm.

Unless using a VPN it is very easy for mods to tell what accounts are linked to a IP address/range.
This statement is false. Moderators do not have access to this data, admins do.
Sorry my mistake but i know global mods on some other forums have access to this information.

Maybe have an extra account to have a little biggest profit from signature campaign, but I just will do if it's allowed.
Well, that might be risky. Depending on the quality of your posts you could get banned on both accounts easily. If you choose this path just pay attention to your posting habits/quality.

Thank you all for the fast answers. I just didn't understand about: if one of my accounts is banned how does the forum know about my other accounts? How does the forum know that it's me in another account?

They don't like you selling accounts here but admit that there is no use trying to stop it because it would still happen off forum and that way harder to track who owns what account.

It doesn't but there are ways for other users to know and point it out to the admins and mods so they can do further banning. The admins can check ip address to see if the accounts were logged into using the same ip addresses, users can check the addresses that your accounts have posted and see if they are involved in any transactions together, etc. If you are caught ban evading then the bans become worse and getting permabanned becomes more likely.

Ok. I just would like to know, always good to know better about what is allowed and what isn't. I don't expect to do any illegal thing for sure. Maybe have an extra account to have a little biggest profit from signature campaign, but I just will do if it's allowed.

Multiple accounts are allowed and the selling of forum accounts is also allowed. Selling accounts is discouraged.

There are some things to remember about having multiple accounts. If one of your accounts is banned, you, the user, are banned. It doesn't matter if one of your alts is not banned, so long as one account is banned you are not allowed to post even from an unbanned account.

If you are trading accounts, you should always use an escrow.

It is not against the forum rule and it will also not make any IP issue but having more than one accounts or an alt accounts here are frowned upon. People may have multiple accounts for signature spamming purposes but tere are also cases that people uses alts to scam others so it is really not encouraged. I suggest you to only have one account.
