I am using the forum now and it is working perfectly fine. But since you have written this post 4 hours ago, there might be an issue with the site.
However i did see the "Checking your browser before accessing" at the start, don't know why. I hope there was no DDOS attack.

That happens when CloudFlare scans the clients (you and me) before allowing us to access the forum as an anti-bot measure.

So when does cloudflare scan the client ? Is there any specific interval or it should scan once you access the site everyday ?
I rarely get this message on my browser, perhaps once a month or so.

CloudFlare has their own algorithm on doing so. But to put it simply, if your IP/ client is deemed suspicious or it's new, you'll see it more frequently. But rest assured its nothing serious unless your device is part of a botnet.

I've solved lots of reCAPTCHA/ hCAPTCHA so the screen shows up every so often.

I guess the only good benefit of Cloudflare is its free CDN which it even integrates with other third party registrars but a paid CDN is always better for connection times.
Cloudflare is probably the best service of its kind out there at least its the most reliable the issue that I have with Cloudflare is that I do not completely trust them as a company. Some of their privacy sharing is suspect and I believe they collect more data than I would like to give to them.

But they have many benefits since they are probably the best by a long shot in what they offer.

Do you think angry HODLer bulls were DDoSing the forum in attempt to make BTC price go up (in retaliation for Elon Musk single-handedly tanking BTC)?
I doubt targeting the forum would have any significant impact on the Bitcoin price so it was probably something unrelated. It might be a competitor or someone who has recently been annoyed with how things operate around here or it could just be someone trying out their DDOS setup and randomly chose the website. I do not think there is a motive for trying to effect the price especially using DDOS as a means to increase the price.

Soon every web site will have to run on cloudflare it seems.
Probably because it is the best option out there and that is not saying a lot. Most of the services out there that offer similar protection are not as good or are even worse privacy wise than Cloudflare the only other alternative is setting up your own DDOS protection their RAID but that would be complex to setup, maintain and probably is a huge time sink. It would be better if we had our own solution but I do not think theymos will want to maintain something like that as it is a pretty big operation when you can get the same service from someone with a click of a button.

I usually experience this cloudfare scan whenever I login my bitcointalk account on my desktop with VPN. I believe they scan when there is an irregular IP login to your account. The problem always after a few minutes when I refresh my browser.

I don't use Cloudflare on my site because it is a pain in the arse to set up and sometimes changing the nameservers makes weird errors about DNS records not being found.

Thought this was an isolated case, I am morbidly glad that I wasn't the only one experiencing this because I have no knowledge to fix it if it was just my network that has the problem. Hopefully this gets resolved as fast as possible.

Anyone else experiencing it? It's not my computer. Sufing the web (apart from the forum) is fine.

Many websites are starting to operate behind cloudflare lately. I get the same Cloudflare warning almost always when I am using investing.com since last week or last month. They are now using it permanently I guess and it is annoying af. Soon every web site will have to run on cloudflare it seems.

No choice, because dealing with DDOS attacks are a pain. I can imagine without CF, that's gonna leave the site way more vulnerable for a longer period.

Just noticed this too, every tine you change IP the screen of cf show first. So probably its ddos.
I was surprised to see the Cloudflare "Checking your browser before accessing" page after a long time without seeing it while using this forum and mine was even in a loop until just opened the site through a fresh tab.

I guess the attack was mitigated shortly after.

It was DDOS. Now theymos probably activated cloudflare again that's why it stopped.

Same thing here, well at least up until like 5-10 minutes ago. Everything went back to normal now, at least for me.

Same, it was displaying error pages earlier and massive slowdowns. Could just be some temporary DDOS attacks.
