Regardless, its been pretty stable for the last few minutes or so. Maybe, it is an attack of some sort. It hasn't been too much of a issue, and seemed to only affect it for a small amount of time. I did timeout on a few posts after my previous reply stating posts are fine. No big issue though.

It's working OK for me now too, although earlier Ion  was having the same cloudflare errors and slow page loads that others were having.

I saw that the "I'm Under Attack Mode" was on, for the first time in last few months so I guess there something going on, probably DDoS attack. It's not only the internal problem with the merit statics as theymos said :
There was a query in the merit stats which became too slow and ended up jamming up the whole database. Possibly it was pushed over the edge by new bot activity, but no intentional DoS attack AFAICT. Or maybe my fix from yesterday's unrelated database issue degraded performance. I'll look into it more later. In any case, I think I fixed it for now.

We will find out soon, maybe...

Ok this solved my concern now.

Im tweaking my connection for hours until now as Im typing this because the forum is kind of bit of slow to me. I even changed my DNS. And to add for that, it's rainy day here and I have an on-going case with my ISP about slow internet connection so I guess that's the problem. Some websites are fast and some are don't.

So not only me as majority is having the same issue now. Well then no choice but to bear with it.
Yeah, changing your DNS settings or anything on your end won't do anything. It's a forum issue, and everyone should be experiencing these issues. Its pretty bad at the moment, and most of my pages are timing out.

At least posts are going through even though it might take a while.

Each page takes about 15 seconds to load today. I was expecting to find a topic about this, but there's none.
Is it just me? I have the same problem on 2 devices.

It was really slow like 2 hours ago and now I'm getting the 504 error from time to time. And it was like under maintenance 15 hours ago. I have one pm to reply which I don't think it get through because the screen then stop responding after clicking "Send message button, and when I was about to write my reply again, suddenly one message pops up, which means my first reply did actually go through.

Yeah, I'm on wi-fi and I thought it might be that, because I'm having the same issues today.  Yesterday I kept getting that "bad gateway" error for a few hours.  I'm used to that error, but I don't think I've experienced this delay before--or at least not in quite a while.  At least it isn't minutes.

Edit:  Whoops, spoke too soon.  Just got the 504 error as I was trying to post this.
I'm wondering that this server down issue we're experiencing right now is somehow a effect of jamming the database just like what theymos have said the other day. Even though he fixed it already, I can say that it's not fully fixed by looking at the situation right now.
This might be the reason why the forum loads slower than before.

Some members also said that they've encountered this 504 gateway timeout error after the problem that day.

At the other side. I'm sure that Admin are working on it silently.

Oh by the way, here is the topic I'm referring to https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/connection-problem-error-4898624

In some location it's not even loading....
Hmmm, so it's really something unusual.

I’m also getting it. What’s curious is that I was posting a reply, it took like a minute to load, I got that message and, however, the reply had been posted.

I logged in few minutes ago and having the same issue. I looked on google for a free tool to test the speed and here what I found...

http://www.monitis.com/pageload/?url=https://bitcointalk.org&testId=685700

Not sure about the accuracy however something is not right for sure.

Woah, so it’s really not my Internet connection's problem. I noticed it as well and I'm experiencing this slow response of Bitcointalk by just now and I thought it's my Internet connection's problem but it has no problem browsing in other sites. It took me about 10 seconds to load this thread which doesn't even have too many replies so it only means Bitcointalk responses slower than normal.

Edit.
It took me about 20 seconds to post this reply Cheesy

Yeah, I'm experiencing the same but for just 5-6 seconds at maximum.

It seems also it depends on location, I'm getting a far lower waiting time via one VPN with us ip and at the same time and pretty weird Undecided  a far longer one with a german ip, I've counted till 20-25 with this

But nothing too bothersome and no need for a refresh to get the whole page loaded.

Same here. Sometimes  refresing the page ends up not showing any post at all on the screen and I need to refresh again. Tried if from two different devices.

Update: I got a Cloudflare message, and it works fine again. I guess DDOS protection is on now.
