The recognition that it's getting is going wild and wider.

But as whole Europe does not seem to be welcoming the crypto. There are few countries which are imposing strong crypto regulations while some of them welcoming it. As whole Europe still balances the both sides. I am not sure how much it will impact but after Trusses bad decisions and UK’s economy failing that too in the times of recession which is crazy. Being part of European enforcements this could be concerning when it will come to crypto market regulation. We can only have wait and watch formula to see how far France goes.
Yeah, that's the great part of it. There's still balance if we look at it as a whole continent but let's just appreciate it for France as it's the main topic that OP has brought up. Although we know that there are still many EU countries that are not into it but good to see that some of them are starting to recognize and add some service like this that would bring up more people into adoption. When it's come to these news, these are good news and hoping to see more like these.

Once a man, twice a child!
News like this will certainly pave way for other currencies to thrive and since France looks to be one of the supporters of Bitcoin, maybe there could be a silver lining for a possible Bitcoin adoption?
No doubt, news like this is certainly refreshing to the ears and gladdens the heart. Sadly, we've read about such exciting stuff that should've jumped Bitcoin and the entire crypto market but which didn't expectedly. I won't be disappointed if this doesn't at the end too. France is a country with influence on the world map and economics too. Let's see how things go from here. However, don't get your hopes high on it so you won't get thrown under the bus, so to speak.

It's refreshing that a Financial institutions is invested in the thought of including crypto services to their list and not bothered about introducing CBDC.

Hah! I'm probably getting way over my head right now. But, I'd be keeping my ears peeled for such news tho.

It's about time also to make adoption faster in Europe since the turmoil keeps rising, France has to step towards protecting thier people from getting behind. There wasn't a lot of news about crypto in the country so sure this is a good start to wake the Frenchmen after all banks all over the world are starting to adopt crypto.

The link by the way is not working.

I think by now you should have understand the forum well being a full member, you're bringing in a topic that has nothing to do with bitcoin discussion here, atleast by now you should have been familiar with the forum rules and regulations, on bitcoin discussion board here, you will discover from one of the pinned threads that says "forum moderation policy" and "low quality post does not belong here" but in this your case is the entire post made that does not belong to bitcoin discussion and you should have discover that by reasoning on why members aren't posting a reply, i will advise you gently move the thread to altcoins discussion where it belongs or economics.

You read like a racist or at the very least an exclusionary btc maximumizer.

At the milfster.

I am thinking since it is including all of crypto and it is a service offered.

economics is best not altcoins as suggested by the guy I quoted.

Nice find on your part. and it will affect btc along with other coins.

thanks.

Sounds like a big step for an institution that has been around for over a century. This just shows that regulation of cryptocurrencies is catching up fast among developed countries. These establishments aren't going to pass up at the opportunity to come in early before crypto adoption becomes full-blown.

The truth is, while we an applauding France government for initiating policies that allow the digital exchange commission to work hand in hand with leading cryptocurrency exchanges to develop and approve this framework that allows this development.

We should also not that this will aid more capitalization of the cryptocurrency market within the country and also allow the government to tax citizens on their cryptocurrency earnings, so in whichever way, it is a win-win situation for both the government and the citizens of their right to freedom of financial life is not infringed.

it is always nice and refreshing to see this type of news where known institutions are given the full authority to offer crypto services to the people. I don't know the situation of crypto activities in France but this will probably increase crypto awareness to some extent. a few days ago there was similar news about google and coinbase offering crypto services, I think in time these types of institutions that provide crypto services will be everywhere, this is how crypto will spread fast.

Joining other financial institutions to receive permission to operate as a Digital Assets Service Provider (DASP) is one of France's oldest banks, SG Forge, a digital asset division of the Société Générale which have been in existence for 150 years.
The institution has been granted the right by L'Autorité Des Marchés Financiers (AMF) to start offering crypto related services.

This step marks a huge positive development for SG as after it was launched in 2018, it quickly emerged to become the leading department to champion digital assets in the financial institution.
This approval seems to be the latest to join the other Financial institutions in France as earlier this year, Binance became the first leading crypto company to gain approval and it's acceptance marked the largest crypto currency exchange's approval in Europe.

Although, SG Forge have not been given access to operate as a trading platform, it's still a plus for them as they are next after Singapore based crypto platform, Crypto.com to be given DASP recognizance.
