What identity are they going to have hunting when they come for Satoshi, we have seen how those that have been hunted inntheboast are all targeted and captured through they identity, like the case with the CEO of X who was arrested at an airport, this is made possible because both his identity and documents have been placed on watch list, so the airport security where already on the look out for him, but if anyone want to go after Satoshi, which identity are you going to use, how sure are you that you have an individual as Satoshi or Satoshi could be a code name which have no identity attached to such a name.

We should focus our energy on more other sensitive issues, instead wasting it on how and when an individual get arrested or become a target by the government, people like Satoshi are smart enough to concealed their identity, to any point as long as it concerns they privacy and freedom.

Many may not understand this and that is why they worry so much of the possibility of getting Satoshi to jail for no crime at all, or may be just because he evented what brought citizens the total freedom over the centralised platforms.

Yeah good luck, Satoshi is long gone, either dead or totally off the grid. He’s far more intelligent than any of those losers in charge of security for governments. Satoshi left no traces, he will never be found.

Maybe we should immediately issue a warrant for the creator of the World Wide Web? Or maybe arrest Cisco engineers? Oh! Right! The energy company employees are to blame for everything!

I don't think they will issue an arrest warrant, my speculation is they already try to hunt Satoshi since few years ago including to hunt Monero's creator which is Nicolas van Saberhagen.

Probably there would be a time government want to manipulate the market by arresting fake Satoshi, both of fake Satoshi and the government are working together in order to dump the market.

On the case of Telegram, we could argue TON as cryptocurrency is not as decentralized as Bitcoin is, because there is nobody to arrest in the case of Bitcoin which would translate into a decrease of the price of Bitcoin down 20 percent or so.
If Bitcoin is decentralized, even Satoshi is arrested, it will not affect Bitcoin price at all since it's decentralized. Bitcoin isn't controlled by anyone, you know, including Satoshi. Wink

Just wait for it. A European Union country will soon issue an arrest warrant for Satoshi Nakamoto, who will stand accused of having invented a platform which he has persistently failed to control.

I wouldn't call arresting the Telegram CEO a "blunder" Telegram is a very big cesspool. And someone needs to be held accountable...

LOL!

Someone recently reminded me of the following meme, I think it represents what satoshi's reaction could be:

Satoshi built a decentralized technology that runs on autopilot, what is his need of controlling the contributors? Why would the government charge him for building a technology he failed to control? The technology has been running well for more than "10 years" without him.  However, arresting him is like looking to find a needle in the haystack—If he get seen, they’ll be no proper point to place charges on him, he did nothing wrong in building a technology that solves the world's financial problem. He should be celebrated like other innovators.

It would pretty much a waste of time and resources to issue any arrest warrant against Satoshi, in my opinion. He was clever enough not leaving tracks behind, as he was pretty aware prosecution from the governments and states was guaranteed. He was quite intelligent in that aspect.
On the case of Telegram, we could argue TON as cryptocurrency is not as decentralized as Bitcoin is, because there is nobody to arrest in the case of Bitcoin which would translate into a decrease of the price of Bitcoin down 20 percent or so.

Maybe the mistake of TOn was to become so Telegram centered and use a centralized messaging application as their launching interface..
I also think trying to arrest Satoshi Nakamoto would be waste of time. He was very smart and did not leave any clues about who he is or where he is. It is hard to find someone who does not want to be found. Means this looks like joke. Means to whom they will arrest, the person who has died according to some resources and some says he is alive but hidden. So if I will say that I created Bitcoin so they will arrest me. Or anyone else confess so they will arrest him/her.

But on the other hand Telegram cryptocurrency TON is different. It is easier for authorities to control because it is connected to Telegram app. This makes it weaker than Bitcoin which is not controlled by any single person or company. Bitcoin is safer because it is decentralized meaning it is not dependent on one person or organization. This makes it harder for governments to interfere with it.

I also believe the comparison between Pavel and Satoshi is not as suitable as it would seem to be, a cryptocurrency is a very different concept fromma messaging app (which allows the sharing of media).
what makes them different? is it just the fact that one of them has a centralized data storage system because if so then i don't really think that should let them off the hook.

...did I miss something?

They mention Satoshi Nakamoto in the opening introductory paragraphs of the report
but dont actually explain anything else pertaining to Satoshi...

So assuming this European Country issuing an arrest warrant for Satoshi because
"he" hasnt been able to control Bitcoin - presuming this has to do with the criminal
useage of Bitcoin, so this country should also issue a warrant for Christine Lagarde
for failing to control the EURO to prevent criminals from using it oh how we would love to see that!

They should also issue an arrest warrant for the grim reaper while they are at it,
they will have better luck than trying to find the entity of SN who has pulled a
master class in how to be and stay anonymous.

How funny it will sound for them to issue an arrest warrant for someone they don’t know if he/they exist again. Bitcoin has already gone through that phase of holding someone accountability for its invention, it’s now on its own and not controlled by one person or a group of people like an entity. If they want to hold someone accountable, they should go after those that claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto and maybe they’ll see whether those people caught will be able to give them what they need from bitcoin technology. They can’t even do that, so we should not even think or assume that it is going to happen. Another reason why being anonymous in this digital area is a necessity.

Free speech and all is good but when your platform is being used for child porn and all whatnot, it should be regulated to an extent. Free speech doesn't mean people should commit crimes against it.
It's different from bitcoin because bitcoin is a currency. You can't control what people do with a currency as much as the government may be against it. There is nothing done with bitcoin that is not done with dollars, pounds, euros, Yuan etc.

I won’t want to say much about this because it’s still something that’s not certain and the statement “what if” still stands until he’s found guilty. I saw this as a means of censorship they want but if they’re yet to prove him guilty of all the charges against him, I will continue to say and assume they want censorship and they’re trying everything hard to put the blame on him by putting all the allegations on him.

Well this was just writer's own imagination running wild. He seems to think that this has something to do with cryptocurrency because EU doesn't like worldcoin either, ignoring the fact that worldcoin was about gpdr and privacy laws in general. Just like arresting telegram ceo was about enabling scams an people sharing illegal and horrid material.

I reported accounts and groups in telegram that were creating duplicate scam groups, identical to legit ones, except they were claiming to give free airdrops.

And after a while i realized, that telegram wasn't going to do anything with those reports. There's no other chat or social media where i would have seen as many scammers roaming free. Even Xitter wasn't as invasive, even though they have bots probably more than humans.

It goes beyond that, actually, because Telegram has some moderation in the case of groups which violate their terms of service, all it takes is someone to report the group of the user for them to take care of it.
The most important difference between Telegram an other major messaging app is Telegram not implementing massive surveillance and stockpiling data from their user to later be used for profit, like Meta, Microsoft and Google do.

Actually, you need to read the charges against Pavel Durov. Now, let's get something straight. I understand that the French government may just be looking for ways to get to him, using those charges to camouflage their real intention, but have you for a second stop to think "What if he is guilty?"
I mean we don't know what they discovered during their investigation that led to his arrest.

Satoshi didn't fail to control Bitcoin,  because Bitcoin itself was never meant to be controlled.

If they going for a warrant, they should issue for us who are supporting such Rebellious system.

While they're at it, they could issue warrant to stop Dr. Jekyll. Satoshi Nakamoto is a pseudonym we haven't heard of for 13 or 14 years. We don't even know if he was a single person, we don't know if he is dead, if he was a man or a woman. We don't know anything.

So they can issue any warrant they want, as if they want to issue one for Tutankhamun.
