Maybe they updated their terms in recent times which allows them to hold the user's funds forever.

Not anywhere in the US ToS that I can find.

Just now I went through their updated terms still the withdrawal of funds from the terminated account is still in place.

You will be permitted to transfer Supported Digital Assets or funds associated with your hosted Digital Asset Wallet(s) and/or your USD Wallet(s) for ninety (90) days after Account deactivation or cancellation

So the support is liable to give a reason why the funds are on hold, but we know how sloppy their support system is, even it may take months to resolve simple issues in coinbase platform.

Obviously, they are going to have different ToS for different countries / jurisdictions.

They also will confiscate and turn over funds based on government requests, but any financial institution that holds money will do that.

Well I don't think you right because they limited the account due to suspicious "login" from what they said, also the limits have been added just after I bought the crypto.

Haven't used Coinbase for years but earlier they used to terminate the account instead of 'disabling' so the good thing is user has access to withdraw all the funds in the account before termination and that is the only access they will give you and it most likely happens if you deposit funds from gambling wallet.

Maybe they updated their terms in recent times which allows them to hold the user's funds forever.

And there is no further point in arguing because they will keep repeating the same auto-generated emails for your support tickets no matter what and close the support ticket as resolved without even addressing what is the issue. So move to better exchange which gives better User experience.

Coinbase being US based and following US rules and regulations can and will do things to your account (restrict / ask for more info / close) then other exchanges.
The upside, is that they do follow a lot more rules and regulations so unlike others (including the one you mentioned) if they do kick you off their platform you will get your coins back without too much hassle. There will be a delay, but you will get them.

The other side is the rules are many and not well documented so you never know where you might trip one.

@Darker45:
Did it happened to you on binance? If so, please share the experience you had, cuz to me never happened (I just buy and then I transfer to a meta). Instead on coinbase, I can say happen cuz I just see it happening, even before trying to send, straight away after I confirmed by bank payment. So to make sure, you understand: I used Coinbase just to buy crypto, I don't keep them on that silly platform. If I buy something from Amazon, and they refuse to send me the gods I payed for is called fraud so in my opinion, coinbase are thieves.

Same here.
Well, based on my old experience using Coinbase their exchange and wallet are buggy I deposited some Bitcoin before but it didn't show in my wallet but on explorer, it was already confirmed I contacted them to fix but it took a week before they solved my issue not only once but 3 times I stop using them even I have few BTC on my vault unlike Binance until now I never had any issue yet and I only use it to exchange, withdraw, and trade small amount.

Yes I understand, I think this too. Because I did it already, and was just me login in, their answer was: this limitation came from their system automatically. So all I know so far, is that I just give up that funds, contacted my bank and explained how they block my funds hope to get refunded back by them.
The support team responded with inaccurate information, but from what I mentioned, the reason is the gambling site. I do not think that binance has a similar policy, but in any case, and to avoid this happening in the future, try to break the link between the last withdrawal/deposit process and your wallet with several intermediate wallets, meaning that you send money to several wallets you manage them Before depositing or withdrawing, it is true that twill cost you more fees but it is rare for these sites to go through a chain analysis of longer than 3 transactions. You can also use mixing services.

If you wanna see someone joking with your coins, just use Coinbase. But if you wanna make yourself a joke, leave Coinbase and transfer to Binance. That way, you're jumping from the frying pan into the fire. LOL!

How do you think Binance is better than Coinbase? They're birds of the feather. They both have their fair share of shady decisions to suddenly freeze funds, lock accounts, disable withdrawals on the basis of "something suspicious."

So coinbase should not let me buy Crypto knowing I was banned for that reason right? Instead they let me buy it, that's how they rob some of us. But I repeat, I am not here to complain but would like just to let the people that use coinbase what can happen to their crypto too.

Whatever is good to know, I just wanted to share my experience with you, so you can avoid risking you're crypto, they do magic, can make them vanish Grin (also I live in Italy)

There are some users here who experience the same thing they also received a response that support said there is a suspicious login but the real reason is they also violated the gambling policy they admit it.

So I believe that's the reason why your account is limited.
If the support tells you that there is a suspicious login why not try to request for login history and IP? So that we know if they actually pointing to suspicious login and not the violated policy.
And then ask them what should you do to lift the limitation?

Also is very stupid this rule, cuz I can transfer to a wallet, and then from there I do whatever I want, but yeah I just move to binance instead supporting this gov platform. #DeleteCoinbase  Grin

I think the reason why your Coinbase account become limited is due to their gambling policy. Look freebitco.in is a gambling site if you made some transaction using Coinbase to send or receive from freebitco.in then you've already violated their policy.

Also, coinbase is not a good place to buy coins their service is pretty strict compared to Binance based on my experience.

Anyway, how do you buy ETH did you use coins or FIAT?
If you paid it with FIAT through a bank you can maybe able to dispute the transaction.

This is correct.

Coinbase has a policy like this which falls on unlawful gambling since Coinbase is from US which makes Freebitco.in illegal to have a US citizen player.

Quote
Unlawful Gambling: Lotteries; bidding fee auctions; sports forecasting or odds making; fantasy sports leagues with cash prizes; internet gaming; contests; sweepstakes; or games of chance that are not sanctioned by a governmental body or regulatory authority.

Hi everyone, wanna share my experience that I had on coinbase. I usually deposit here and send to FreeBitco or other wallets. Today, happened something funny, my account got limited after I buyed some ETH. So wasn't able to Send & Sell anymore. The support, make me lose also 4 hours, asking me to change hundred times the browsers.

Then , at the end, the guy from the support said me , is because the system detect something suspicious. I always login from same network (from here), in any case, I understand that, so I resend a selfie & front/back of my ID card. After the confirm of it went good, I wasn't still able to Send & Sell. So then I go to "Disable account" (to receive my eth) and close this weird service. Again here, it says I've to contact the support. Contacted, and instead helping me with Disabling the account, he went straight back to the first ticket I had.

So what I should say, if u wanna see someone joking with u're coins, just use Coinbase. Now I bought a one-way flight to binance, good luck guys, just wanna share a way that coinbase block our funds for several time for no reason. Have a nice day everyone!
