I think that this is one of the clearest mainstream pieces that I have heard on Bitcoin. They let Mark have long form quotes, they explained on a deeper level how this is a way to circumvent fraud- hell they even nailed the two generals problem. They even made a great comparison with the first internet companies.

Cool, thanks for sharing this ! I find Freakonomics very interesting, if a bit dry at times when they go on and on about statistics Smiley

Bitcoin is often described as “virtual gold” — as well as everything from a “bubble” to a “Ponzi scheme” to “a haven for individuals to buy black market items.”

Yeah, the intro is giving a synopsis of general media hype. The substance is rather objective and discredits most of the media sensationalism.

Here is a great podcast for beginners or even for experienced bitcoiners who want a little refreshment or encouragement. It's from late March 2014, but it didn't have it's own thread anywhere on the forum, so I thought I would share. Mark Andreesen and Benjamin Lawsky are the notable guests. There is a clip from Milton Friedman that blew my mind! Check it out:
