Well that's certainly very nice of you! And personally I don't care if it's just part of a marketing strategy, as a matter of fact I wish you success in your endeavor  Smiley So 20 years online huh? I gotta say I'm curious to see what it was like trying to make money online in the early days of the internet. I'll have a look at your book when I find some time. Thanks for sharing!

torusJKL - If you go to http://www.impulsecorp.com/download-my-ebook-for-free you will see I already have it available for download in epub format.

n2004al  - Yes, what vengeful said is correct. After the initial flurry of interest, it will probably get very few downloads on my blog. Everybody who wants to read it will have read it already. By putting it on Amazon.com, it opens it up to millions of new readers. Amazon does not allow an author to price a book at $0, other than for a 7 day special promotion which I plan to do.  I may eventually lower the price to 99 cents on Amazon, but I worry that may make the book seem less valuable, which causes people to appreciate it less.  I can't keep giving it away for free on my blog and sell it on Amazon, if I want to be part of the KDP Select program (https://kdp.amazon.com/select), which puts the book in Kindle Unlimited and Lending Library. Both of these services allow a huge number of people to read the book for free, and I still get paid a small free, just like music streaming sites such as Spotify pay an artist a few pennies every time you listen to their song. To be part of KDP Select, an author is not allowed to sell the book on any other site or to give it away for free anywhere. Once I am done giving it away on my blog, I will make the book part of KDP Select.

Also, one of the key factors to selling a book on Amazon is having a lot of reviews, so by giving the book away, it helps increase the number of reviews. Had I not given it away, there is a good chance it never would have received any reviews.

My first question seeing your post is: Why this guy give his work for free for a limited time to all those who will read his post? Without any interest... Then the second question that I give to myself is: Why not give this e-book not for a limited time for forever? Which is the difference? Why the firsts who read the post will have the chance to have the e-book free and the others don't? Which is the faults of the seconds? Which hide the e-book that make it to be given for a limited time (and only for a limited time) for free and then is supposed to be sold.... Which is the interests of the author to do this?

Can anyone answer to my these questions? With all my respect for the work and behavior of the author.

IMO he did it to publicize his work so that later on more and more users may get to know about his book...

by giving it for free for a limited time he could create a hype for his book and enable it to reach to an even greater populace...

Thanks for making it available for free.
Maybe you could also publish it in epub format for e-readers other than the Kindle?

there are addons that can enable to read the epub version of the book in your internet browser itself...

Try "epub reader" addon for mozilla firefox... i am sure there is a similar addon for google chrome

For a limited time I am giving my e-book away for free at http://www.impulsecorp.com/download-my-ebook-for-free . It is called "How To Make Money Online" and although the book is about my various business ventures on the Internet over the past 20 years, several chapters are about cryptocurrencies. For example, in one chapter I discuss my experience with Bitcoin cloud mining, and in another chapter I talk about all of the various Bitcoin 2.0 type currencies. You do not have to give your email address or register to get my e-book, and I am not trying to sell or promote anything.
