We keep collecting signatures to our petition and maybe it will bring us some results:
Not long ago, Alvin Hagg and his accomplices stole coins from another victim. The client turned out to be an educated and competent person. He did not waste time on long correspondence with the administration. On the contrary, he immediately recorded the evidence and filed a statement with local law enforcement. Moreover, the victim also contacted the structures responsible for investigating online fraud.

When we received a letter from the victim, we also quickly responded and contacted the local police. They explained that Freewallet is a fraudulent project that has already robbed hundreds of users. We have asked agency officers to conduct a thorough investigation into Alvin Hagg and other possible suspects.

Studying all the materials may take time, but the main thing that can be noted now is that Alvin Hagg and his accomplices may soon end up behind bars. We, in turn, will definitely inform readers if there is information that can be published without prejudice to the investigation.

We resolve all kinds of issues no matter if they are discussed in public space or not.

That's a lie! I can show dozens of complaints where the issues never were resolved

So, yes, the only way for most people to get back their coins is to send public scam accusations. Otherwise no one will even know that such issue occured.

Since I got a large phone bill (DIALER) 20 years ago while I was downloading "free" porn, I never use products and visit sites which have "free" in their name.

Hi!

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. Checking your support ticket, I see that the case is currently in progress.

You mentioned passing the KYC procedure in Changelly's platform, however, you never confirmed this information with us. All we received was your refusal to proceed with the verification process. Could you please forward us the email you received from Changelly to confirm you passed their KYC? This would be helpful to resolve the case.

Thanks!

This is the MO of scammers, how could he recieved the crypto then?

So Freewallet can suddenly decide to KYC their customers?? Is there some dollar amount limit for that?

Yeah they do this all the time. No particular criteria as far as I know.

I'm still puzzled as to how users find these shitty exchanges AND decide to use them despite the warning signs that can be easily found with a simple google search.

You don’t control your own private keys with Freewallet, they have form for selectively applying KYC restrictions when people try to withdraw funds.

  • Don’t use them
  • They’re not a proper wallet, just some shitty exchange
  • Not your keys - Not your bitcoin

Check their terrible trust ratings - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=1177176

It's not a good Idea to use a custodial wallet for large sums of coins.
Kind of defeats one purpose of using crypto as the money is not under your control.

So Freewallet can suddenly decide to KYC their customers?? Is there some dollar amount limit for that?

Well, anyway - better use your own wallet...

Ok, first of all, I would recommend everyone to NEVER USE FREEWALLET.ORG, why? Here we go

January 8. I asked Freewallet if I was going to have any trouble because of my ammount [is not that much (≈0.8 BTC), but I wanted to be sure there will be no problems], they said "No", I knew that the exchange was going to be processed by Changelly, so I asked the same to Changelly support, and they told me nothing would be a problem because there's no limit for cryptocurrencies transactions.
"Ok, cool", I thought, then I sent ≈0.8 BTC to Freewallet from my Blockchain.com wallet.

I exchanged my BTC into Monero (XMR), then the first problem appeared (not from Freewallet, not yet ...), it was Changelly requesting KYC verification ...
I thought, "Ok, I was not expecting this but here we go ...", and I have no things to say about the Changelly security and support team, they were really fast. It took me like 20 minutes to verify my identify by sending ID and selfie holding my ID and the image they sent to me.

While I was waiting to get verified by Changelly, I asked Freewallet support if there would be any issue after getting verified by Changelly, and they said no.

I received my XMR from Changelly exchange, and I decided to withdraw my money from Freewallet, then ... "Our security system has detected suspicious activity on your account.".

I was chatting with Freewallet's support so I asked immediatly what was going on, and they told me it was ridiculous to be asking to verify my identify if Changelly already did (yes, support and security team are differents deparments in Freewallet and look like they are not even connected), then told me to send the same documents I showed to Changelly KYC, so I took a selfie, my ID card pic, and sent by mail (can you believe it? that's not even secure way to send such personal information ), then waited ... and waited ...

After more than 24 hours (January 9) I received another mail, saying they need more documents ...

Another selfie with a picture they sent to me, a document with my residential address in English (even when I'm from a non-english speaking country), and a screenshot of the wallet from where I deposited BTC into my Freewallet account.

I asked to refund my money back into my Blockchain.com wallet, and they said it was not possible, so I sent the documents they required to get my money ...

I'm still waiting for an answer, it looks like they never are satisfied, I read in anothers post that it is because they try to prevent illegal activity, but there's no reason to think is illegal activity if I provide all they requested to me, it is, as their own support team said, ridiculous. I'm really concerned about how personal information is processed and stored, and about my money, because they make this look like a theft.

I don't know what kind of proofs should I add here, I'll read your suggestions.

I will update.

Thank you.

UPDATE (Jan 13): Freewallet.org verified my account and gave me my money.
