Why does Freicoin mean you can't save ?

Your savings will be eroded. That is what the designer wanted.

With inflating fiat, it is only the value that quietly disappears from your pocket, so not everybody understand it. Your dollar bill is always worth a dollar, even after a few years of inflation. In freicoin the actual coins disappear. You had a hundred, then, simsalabim you have only ninetyfive, even if you never used any. At least it is transparent, they can have that.

Stop press - coin invented whereby one man can't make dollar off the back of another  Wink

Why is that radical ? Even worse than that - why is it viewed as anathema/ridiculous ?

Money, as selected by the market, should not degrade easily. So it is just worse money, and will not be selected by the market. So it will not take off.

The ideals behind it - it is bad also. When you have saved, you will want to keep it, and use it for whatever you like when you like. It is the whole point of saving. Freicoin is unethical, in addition to not taking off.

And third, the effect of being unable to save, is just less saving, hence less investment, hence less prosperity. It is basically what we have with the fiat system. The endgame is implosion. So the effect is not so good either, when we disregard the ethics and the fact that it will not take off. But the bad ethics is really enough to say no to it.

That's exactly what Freicoin do. If you don't use your coins and just hodl them you will lose a part of them from time to time. If I remember right, it is 5% per year. The aim is to create a liquid circulation of the coins.

Isn't this the coin that deprecated with time as it tried to (in my opinion and in the opinion of a lot other people, which is what made this coin just another meh alt) emulate the deterioration of physical coins with time?
I think it's just pointless. People want to be able to hold their coins intact, that's what makes BTC cool above the classic alternatives.
