I went a bit over the top on the Steemit thread. Steemit is a site for content creators, and it rewards them with Steem which can be readily converted into Bitcoin. It doesn't compete with Bitcoin Talk, and I think it makes a nice complementary site foe members who are seriously interested in the crypto world and the Internet.

It's Friday morning, and I'm in Mcd with a coffee and a bacon and cheese flatbread. The main computer is doing a bit of housekeeping, so I'm on the Linux netbook. I've seen several people post that merit seems to have dried up, so I thought I would spend half an hour or so going through the threads on this board, and giving out a few merits. Please note that I do not give merit to people who ask for it, so don't ask, either by pm, or in this thread. The thread is self-moderating, and I will lock it in an hour or so.

Also, please be aware that merit awarding is a subjective exercise, and my criteria will not be the same as many other members, and it does not reflect forum policy.

If you are on my ignore list, then I can't see your post, so I can't give you merit.
I won't award merit for airdrop, ICO, bounty, Facebook promotions, or related threads.
It the thread title is in caps, then I won't open it.
If the first poster in the thread is on my ignore list, then I won't open it
If the thread title is one word such as 'Bitcoin', 'help', or 'question' then I won't open it.
If the thread doesn't look interesting, then I won't open it.
If the first two or three posts are difficult to scan quickly, then I'll close it.

So after all that, lets see what I can find. I don't take notice of rank, and I've awarded merit for all levels from a brand new first post right up to the top.
