Exactly what is the problem that you're encountering? I know that this can be problematic, I've had problem with modems and routers.
However their specifications are weak so it doesn't surprise me when it doesn't work properly/has overheating problems and such.
Besides it isn't that that expensive, so if you brick it you won't lose a lot of money?
