by looking at this forum, id say 80% of users are 'poor', this is obvious by the amount of people raiding faucets and doing sigcampaigns to earn $15 a week.

afterall if you didnt have money problems. you wouldnt care about the problems of money, which bitcoin solves

the other 20% are split into:
15% that have hoarded coins from 2011-> and are now 'newly rich'.
4% new financially stable investors buying bitcoin direct to hoard for future or trade for profit. (middle-class)
1% are venture capitalists who mainly throw lots of money at businesses, as they are still part of the fiat world and want fiat based dividends off the back of bitcoin businesses(rich)

I agree with all of this. I think the poor class of 80% are mostly teenagers with nothing to do except poke each other on Facebook, twiddle around on Twitter and post here for beer money.

There have been a couple of topics on this forum about how people that have invested in Bitcoin, are the new men and women of the future. I would definitely agree with this, would you? Bitcoin is the currency of the future and we have invested in it.

Snobs forget not all of us have many thousands of dollars of disposable income to throw around (ready to lose)
Poor people forget that if they don't have money to throw around, they can't afford to spend it on things they don't need. Which is often why they're poor in the first place.

I think i hear what you are saying and yeah it's a fair assertion.

But take my situation for example..
I started out with an old CPU and old weak crappy Nvidia GPU
and i tried to mine BTC then LTC and then FTC then on...
I got very little and it took maybe 2 months for me to get 1 single Litecoin.
I was proud the day i had 1 LTC !

Later i was buying 300+ LTC at a time when the price was the highest at BTC-e
flipping them for profit etc

I didn't take food out of my kids mouth nor did i invest 1 single cent in crypto crap.
I rubbed two invisible pennies together to make 3
And no i didn't pay for the electricity mining either.

Believe it or not guys not all of us withdraw Fiat from our bank accounts to buy bitcoin so we can trade.

When i got up to around 12 grand i figured screw it ..i am cashing it all out and spending the money.
Glad i did ..no regrets.
That is 0 cents invested and 12k profit.

And i would have kept trading etc but it was becoming more and more of a problem with exchanges
vanishing with my coins with various excuses.. combine that with i seen a down trend coming i was glad to get out.

For example i stopped back then using BTER because i had 3 or 4 transfers in a row vanish.
And i had to keep emailing them and asking them what is wrong (this was with Max Coin)
I was trying to arb coins.. if i wanted to store them i have a wallet for that.
The only explanation i ever got was.. check your balance (then i would see my coins were there)
This back then was becoming a chronic problem at Cryptsy too.
I can't really recall any issues that bad with Bittrex or BTC-e though.

Story doesnt work.
How did you buy 300 ltc without spending fiat?
Dont tell me you mined btc if you needed 2 months for 1 ltc.

Also 12 k in 3 years... i dont want to be a party pooper....

@topic

Btc is right now for techies and speculators.
Imho we need some more years until we reach the general public.

It seems to me a lot of users say things like "they shouldn't be spending money on Bitcoin"
When i have mentioned over the -years- that a lot of guys have to cash out and pay bills at the end of the month.
the poor class want to take part in crypto too !
i am one of those people who live pay check to pay check.
Snobs forget not all of us have many thousands of dollars of disposable income to throw around (ready to lose)

Time after time i have gotten attitude from these snobs on exchange chat boxes.

What is wrong with some poor guys trying to get some bitcoin and get trading ?
Why does it have to be a rich mans game only ?

I stand beside the poor !
Not smug snobby rich pricks.

When i started out i was told i was too late and not to even bother.
Bitcoin started out as guys in their house mining etc and then turned into THIS !

Wow. You seem like a very smart man. If you didn't mention you were poor, I would have thought that you were a well educated, articulate high class man. I don't really know where you find these "snobs", but on this forum, there aren't many of that kind of people. Maybe you should stay away from chat boxes.

What about poor people that realized that they can start living a normal life if they start mining Bitcoin?

It doesn't matter too much if you start with a lot of money or not, considering the potential profitability of Bitcoins future, it scale well across the spectrum.

People with a little money can make a little more and people with a lot of money can make a lot more.

I don't think bitcoin is for any certain type of people. I believe it's made for everyone and anyone who want to invest into bitcoins and even want to make some good money out of it.

Trading cryptocoin is bad thing for poor people who don't have an analysis skill for trading, better to use for business. you can collect it from sign campaign (for example).
like franky1 said, most all of bitcoin user is earn bitcoin not trading.

more like 75 a week(with 2-3 hours a day, which if you think about it would be comparable to a full time job that earn 1k a month for 8 hours a day) but whatever, many prefer to earn bitcoin directly without the need to covnert to avoid taxes and shit like that, i don't like being tracked

and exchanging fiat for bitcoin is the perfect way to be tracked
