Bro really thought bitcoins are indivisible lol. But in all seriousness I don't think the fear of this fudster's unaccounted for. Back in the early days of the crypto industry there had been issues with bitcoin's divisibility against its systematically dwindling supply as well, which is why Sats are made in the first place. Now, it doesn't mean we should understand and appeal to this fudster's wolf cries cause at the end of the day, this is no longer a problem in the industry.

Just goes to show how some problems that we had in the past might still live rent-free in other people's minds lol. Just imagine what problems from now would resurface as FUD Weapons in the coming years should bitcoin still remain topical!

I am really not getting what exactly the OP wants to express. What's the real concern here? Is it about total supply, or are you worried that total market capital would surpass total USD? Anyway, don't mix the Bitcoin unit with the USD; nothing is conflicting here. You can always buy a unit of bitcoin. It doesn't matter what the price is or what the supply is. It's open to everyone. I will advise you to be more specific when you are writing a post. So it will help you get the perfect answers.

So many people talk and claim as if they know much about bitcoin when they don't even understand anything about bitcoin. It is not a must that you should buy 1btc, and this is why bitcoin investment is open for both the poor and rich to benefit from because you can buy in sats based on the amount that you want to use to invest in bitcoin.

Such people will go around discouraging people who are interested to invest in bitcoin with the little that they have. There is enough Satoshi to go round for everyone that is ready to get started with he/her bitcoin investment at anytime. Only ignorant people will feel that bitcoin investment will not go round for everyone, because of its limited supply.

so 1 btc = 100 million sats
so if at any time we have 100K BTC liquid, there would be 10 trillion sats available

the USA has 2.7 trillion available US dollars

so I dunno man I think in terms of sats I think there will always be enough BTCs available

Thoughts?

The guy doesn't even know what he's talking about. He's probably a fudster like you've said, or someone ignorant. While Bitcoin has a limited supply of 21m units, it's far more divisible than the US Dollar itself (8 decimal places). According to my calculations, there are quadrillions of satoshis on the Bitcoin network. That's more than enough for everybody to get into the game. If someday we run out of sats (which is very unlikely), developers could easily expand Bitcoin's divisibility. Maybe up to 9 or 10 decimal places?

Anyways, the main issue is not the supply but rather Bitcoin's ability to scale worldwide. It's still the day where developers haven't come up with a viable solution for this (the LN is still experimental). So it's going to take quite a long time before BTC gets adopted by the masses. At least, it's not as heavily-manipulated and restricted as the US Dollar. Smiley

It is no surprise that a person who has no knowledge of Bitcoin will only spread false information rather than be helpful to the community. How to deal with this person? Ignoring is the best thing to do.

Last month, when I was traveling, I heard some people talking about Bitcoin and saying it was a scam. I know they heard it also from the television and I say that those who have empty knowledge about how this investment works will easily believe that Bitcoin is a big scam. They think that this kind of investment is a Ponzi Scheme --but I don't interrupt with discussion because is hard to educate someone if they don't give room for it.

Well, what does reality say...that this allowed bitcoin to concentrate on a certain relevant percentage of users, but that may vary, the reality is that a consensus has been reached that the distribution of 1000 BTC in one direction They are considered whales, so sometimes addresses that have many bitcoins do not represent a single person, they represent many users.

In any case, this way of how bitcoin is distributed makes the satoshi, its decimal unit, acquire a discard value, it is obvious, but perhaps many do not see it that way, that is, they understand that 21 million is very little, Let's say that in a way it is a click bait: "it's only 21 million, buy now!" Smiley

In any case, Glass Node has this graph that helps understand how the distribution is currently.

Glassnode identifies BTC holders with names of underwater species. Source: Glassnode.

On the other hand, even these data shown are references and are a good approximation of that possible reality.

A person who says that is because they really have no idea what the economy means, because the less flow of bitcoin there is the better because the more it Appreciates , but that's what you do when you don't know much about Something basic , Inflation , It is something that could happen if there were many bitcoins without control and without limits, what I think is that he could have said that because it seems to him that bitcoin is expensive for him, but when it goes up more, what will he say then ? that Bitcoin is impossible and that there must be more to make it cheaper? Those who think these things are because they lack Understanding of economics, technology and the principle of Deflation.

The logic behind "too few available" is that the rich can't get infinite amount of it, that's the issue really. Think about it, what does corporations do? They make a profit, and do they just make the same profit over and over again every year? Of course not, they end up making more and more, any company that doesn't make more profit year by year, is considered having a bad year. So what does that tell us, companies around the world need more and more money to be printed, so that they could get more and more of it. If bitcoin was the currency, they can't keep getting more and more bitcoin, there is a finite amount, they will be stuck at some point and won't get any more than what they already have.

I would not call that person a fraudster but a fool who really don't know much about Bitcoin. Anyone who wants to have his/her share into Bitcoin doesn't need to purchase a whole Bitcoin in order to get any profits from Bitcoin investment because someone can easily invest even $10 to $100 a month into Bitcoin and will have some share in Bitcoin market.

In fact it's always recommend to invest in Bitcoin the amount that doesn't impact your life in any adverse way. I have never seen someone saying purchase a while Bitcoin these days because everyone know that a Bitcoin is worth $35k and most people don't have $35k with them currently, and that's why they recommend to DCA $10 to $100 dollars a month into Bitcoin.

Some people believe that a Bitcoin will be worth $5 to $10 million a coin in future, and if someone starts investing in Bitcoin even from today will be able to have great returns in a decade or two. Let's say that if Bitcoin's price grows to $5 million a coin and someone who has accumulated 0.1 Bitcoin by following a DCA strategy then that person can literally sell his/her Bitcoin and get $500k in dollars. And, trust me there will always be abundant amount of Satoshis for investors.

Who is the fudster guy you reference in the OP? People who are uneducated on bitcoin really should refrain from attempting to criticise it. It just makes them look stupid. We’ve been fighting uninformed FUD for many years now, lazy journalism & bitter, angry political leaders. Just ignore the noise & focus on accumulating as much bitcoin as possible. The people fabricating FUD will be made to look & feel very dumb.

Whoever said that lacks knowledge and information about Bitcoin and how it works. One needs to know that the limited supply of Bitcoin is the reason why its price keeps going up and that is how it's supposed to be. And when it comes to fair distribution, there is never going to be less available for the whole world. Every single person in the world can have Bitcoin as long as they can afford to buy them because when someone doesn't have Bitcoin and wants to buy some, they will need to buy them at whatever price the people are selling them at the market.

So, the supply is enough for everyone, and just because the supply is limited, it will support the increment of the price because those who have Bitcoins will surely start asking for higher prices if the demand keeps increasing, and since a single Bitcoin has 100 units in it, there will always be enough no matter how high its price gets.

[Nope]No hype delivers more than hope
the USA has 2.7 trillion available US dollars
And this amount will probably be owned by everyone someday, meaning fiat becomes increasingly worthless.
Unfortunately, Satoshi does not hope that Bitcoin will be adopted by all humans who have ever been born. If it were the other way around perhaps he would have printed more than 21m units to beat the fiat banker's mission.

The available bitcoin is not too few, just limited in supply means more cannot be created, and that is what makes it to have value like gold does. Everyone can own a percentage from the total amount of bitcoins created even if it is the smallest quantity.

If everyone owns bitcoins, it means it has been accepted, and It will be used for transactions of different kinds and that will keep bitcoins in circulation.

As of the time of writing this post, it's very clear and viable that we have got over 9,531,087 BTC in circulation, which approximately is 93%, and as such also need to understand that 21million BTC in supply is enough for any a worldwide adoption,  and forget the fact that people will always want to spread fake news about BTC, because just as the demand increases, more so are we likely to see it's value increase also, so as to enable it's limited supply meet the required mass adoption, just as what happened in 2017 as many people got to know about BTC, and that skyrocketed its price since then. Henceforth, 19,531,087 BTC currently in circulation is enough for whatever mass adoption.

Even the highest holder of bitcoin sell his shares in bluk bitcoin still lives. Though it might cripple the market a bit due to different sets of liquidity but bitcoin will still be alive even after that. I dont know if there are fudster worth hearing cause a lot have failed on dragging it down unless all whales cooperate to sell their shares and totally injured bitcoin goes down to few dollar price.

There are certainly "too few available" if you look at it in the sense that people should have 1 BTC each or whatever set amount. But of course, it's not a realistic expectation. There will always be people who will achieve greatness (1BTC or more), and there will always be people who will totally underperform the average person. That's just reality works.

That's a pretty mild FUD compared to much crazier stuff some people have spread over the years against bitcoin, some of whom were famous (like Elon Musk) so their FUD had "weight" too. If you get hanged up on every little FUD, you'd end up going crazy.
Try to debunk their FUD wherever they say it if you can and move on.

Bitcoin does not have a limited supply. It is true that there are less than 21 million Bitcoins, but they will not be mined before 2100. Therefore, the generation of Bitcoins continues every 10 minutes and we already have existing currencies, so what is happening may be closer to the precious metals that will be mined, but Bitcoin has a maximum limit that cannot be exceeded. .
This maximum limit can be divided into SATs, and then we do not have 21 million bitcoins, but rather each bitcoin is 108 SATs, and therefore we have a huge number of SATs more than any cash currency at all.

Lol, there will be always Fudster guy in bitcoin and the rest of the crypto market. But you know what? when you think that they are perma bear, but secretly they are simply buying bitcoin when the price is going down because that's why they created this FUD so scare and push the market down.

So just very typical of a Fudster, so don't be offended by it.

On the other hand, if I heard anyone bad mouthing bitcoin, I will simply smile and tell to my self, if the guy is really a fudster that he might be missing the biggest things in his life. And when you become a crypto millionaire, maybe that is the time that he realized that he made a big mistakes.

Did you made this up? Because it look like it.

Why not share us the link to this news or post? It will make this discussion more interesting, it's complete lack of knowledge about Bitcoin that's why someone can say that the max supply of Bitcoin is very smaller compare to people living around the world today.

There will come a time where the Sats of Bitcoin will be very valuable than what they are today, for those thinking that they are late to the game, they lack the knowledge is all, Bitcoin scarcity is just getting started, if you are smart you will start packing up what you can afford on your every paycheck per month.

My advice is if such people aren't ready to learn you can't do a thing about it, leave them and let them Fud as this is all they are capable of at the moment, I know few people that started as a fudsters and in time they choose to do some research, today they already joined the train, they are no more fudsters but long term investors.

That guy actually never studied Bitcoin well, otherwise he won't release such a statement to convince others to his argument. This is a highly debunked supposition all because there is no need for anyone to buy 1 BTC...we can all buy like $100 worth of Bitcoin and hold them forever or buy something with it offline or online. Sadly, with all the available information on Bitcoin online and all has to do is to use his computer or smartphone for it, there are still people who chose to be ignorant even of this very basic concern.

The guy probably compared BTC supply rather than satoshi as you did, 21 million BTC is no match for global population. But, in regards to satoshi, it's plenty indeed, and we'll likely go through time when individual satoshi will become valuable.

many people are stuck in the old fiat trade mindset that investments are made in WHOLE shares.. where they think its not viable for people to buy a whole bitcoin, due to cost and only having upto 21m of whole bitcoins...
they have yet to understand the concept that people can buy decimal amounts of an asset

even funnier part is.. technically if you look at the data of the blockchain.. there are no WHOLE bitcoins. nor decimals of btc
every reward, every transaction is measured in satoshi units on the data/protocol layer.. and then multiplied up into the basket term btc for the human visual layer of the GUI of the software

emphasis
a 50btc reward displayed on a screen is actually and has always been 5,000,000,000 units being created, shared, transfered even from 2009

the "50btc" reward is just a simplified visualisation for the softwares GUI. its not a real thing at the value/unit level of the bitcoin blockchain data/protocol

in short there will be 2,099,999,997,690,000 units ever produced before 2150~

Bitcoin in total is 21 million coins. But you can buy worth of $50 or lower amount which is not up to 1 BTC at all. If more people are having bitcoin, the price will go up and the amount of bitcoin to buy will be less as the price has increased.

If anyone is saying bitcoin is not viable because of its limited supply, that person should only be qualified as an illiterate.

Normally as the higher the demands is the higher the price is increased in value.
So with the strategical analysis on the expenditure and values of Bitcoin of then, now and the future with the total number of Bitcoin can never run out of its stock due to the increments rates and valuable potentials of the Coin.
However, there could be a point of time in the nearest where even an average investor may not be able to purchase up to a 1 Bitcoin as the value increases where there is a more massive demands.

Do you think if I send 1 sat, I only use 1 sat? you forget if you need to spend for the fee which is at least 140 satoshi for 1 input and 2 output, not to mention if the mempool is congested.

Making Bitcoin to achieve mass adoption is really hard when: fee is the problem, many countries still ban Bitcoin and not getting supported by people because they still trust fiat.

limited number of Bitcoins makes some people think that you must buy 1 Bitcoin to be able to use this currency. I have a friend who did not want to invest in Bitcoin because he thought that he had to buy one Bitcoin or similar fiat money such as 1/2 Bitcoin or 1/4 Bitcoin only, and it is not possible to buy $5 in Bitcoin.

If all people used Bitcoin, there would be enough for them because we would not reach the price 1 Bitcoin equals 1 dollar, or then 1 dollar would have no value. there is enough Bitcoin for the entire world's population for the next 100 years.

Fudsters gonna fud. That’s what they do. Ignore the fud and watch them go crazy. That’s the best punishment you can give them. Imagine what it is like to watch the price of bitcoin going up and up and you don’t have any. You are basically losing money for not investing in btc. They are just like how I described it. They are hemorrhaging money every minute and they gettin mad because other people driving lambos and flying jets while these poor cunts walk to their day job where they have been wage slaving since forever. Getting rich is very easy. You just have to want it. If you want it, go grab it and its yours. Most poor people refuse to get rich even if the opportunity was dangling right before their eyes. They see it but they don’t have the capacity to understand what they are seeing.

The total supply of Bitcoin does not stop mass adoption because it has decimal meaning you can own fraction of it. When the demand is huge, it just means the price will rise and that will not hinder mass adoption.

He obviously do not know that we have Sats to take care of his concern. For technical identification,  items and commodities can just be priced in Sats.
