A rasb pi apparently works, but if you support classic... you somewhat implicitly support us moving slightly beyond using rasb pi as a necessary lowest common denominator for a full node. You could get into a little fanless intel powered box like this for under $200, including a 4GB ram module and a 120+GB SSD which means you're future proofed for a while:

Oh ok, was unaware that Rasb Pi would not be enough soon. I'll go for something a little bigger. The Gigabyte you are suggesting, according to the Q&A, has issues with Linux driver support. Intel NUC for $20 more might be more compatible.

I don't even know what the options mean

Need to do more studying. I only ever ran a full node briefly on when I was using the qt wallet on my laptop 4 years ago.

the bitseed runs an arm cpu, so you'd want :

Lots of configuration options if you want to run a pruned blockchain, or blocksonly... basically can be configured as light or heavy as you want it at this point.

I don't have an old system lying around, otherwise that would be my first thought too.

The bitseed units are just a low powered computer running ubuntu. You got an old laptop with a 100+GB hdd sitting around? This would be a good opportunity to learn some simple ssh commands, tons of tutorials out there.

https://bitnodes.21.co is a good place to check the status of your node from any browser, just put in the ip, and it'll return your status and block height. You can ssh into your nodes to get more details via "./bitcoin-cli getinfo".

I'm looking at the Bitseed Core: https://bitseed.org/product/core/?attribute_bitseed-v2=2TB+HDD

Does anybody have any experience with it? I'm debating getting this and setting it up as a Classic node.

- The device displays at status page that can be viewed via web browser. Once you know the local ip address of the device, it can be viewed at http://{ip.add.re.ss}/index.php

If I installed Classic, would this affect the ability to view status page remotely in browser?

Is it better to just skip the hassle and do a hosted option for a monthly fee?
