Fun Fact fiction:

The first bitcoin transaction ever made by Satoshi Nakamoto, was sending 100 bitcoins to Hal Finney on January 12th, 2009.This is Hal's profile btw https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/hal-2436 .Did you notice he doesn't have any forum rank, just VIP  Grin

Satoshi made the first bitcoin transaction on 12th January 2009. He sent 100btc to Hal finney on that day. This is the most interesting fact about btc.

fun fact:
hal received TEN bitcoin.. not 100btc..

Can not recall why I paid that fee.  Feeling generous perhaps?  That was not that much money back then.

Wow! You actually paid a fee of 4500 bits. Was that normal in 2012?

fun fact:
in 2012 the price averaged $6-$12 and the transaction fee was about 0.001 (less than 2cents but more than half a cent)

so paying 0.0045 was a little bit over the top, but then again BurtW may have thought that he was doing something special..

the method BurtW 'spammed' the blockchain is not the full bloated way to write stuff to the blockchain so he should not feel guilty.

You can write things in the blockchain.

Here is one I did when I was Bitcoin young and foolish:

http://blockchain.info/tx/bf40e4a1c2546747bc800a085e7145d921a9f402aaf4040c155ff5d0df9cc999

Which reads:

Code:
11When1DieBuryMeDeepLayTwoXVEY5jv 0.00000001 BTC
11SpeakersAtMyFeetAPairofXXTyrHor 0.00000001 BTC
11HeadphonesonMyHeadAndXXXXYUSvnd 0.00000001 BTC
11ALwaysPLayTheGratefuLDeadWdq4Xo 0.00000001 BTC
                                  0.00000004 BTC

Again, please don't do this because it bloats the blockchain with unprunable crap.

Rather than fun facts bitcoin has been thought funny by users when they initially come to know about it. Now too when we explain people simply make fun but soon understands the reality.

For me gambling is fun and I am gambling using bitcoin so that is a fun fact for me as I don't need to disclose my identity while gambling with bitcoin.

Same with me, plus I don't need to have business with banks in order to deposit something.
For me bitcoin is like made for gambling.
Interesting fact is total amount of bitcoins. Can satoshi be 1 dollar in the future, cause btc community is growing. There will be no enough coins for everyone.
When you take a look on bitcoin 7 years ago, band bitcoin now difference between is very interesting, what we can expect for 7 years?

fun fact
there is no magic central bitcoin fairy to do things on behalf of the community..
if everyone that complains that their towns retailers dont accept bitcoin. realised that they themselves have to ask their retailer... then their local retailers would have much more chance of accepting bitcoin because the local customers are actually asking
