Nuremburg Defense - A fallacy in which a party claims that they are void of the consequences of their actions simply by virtue of following superior orders.
The refutation - Human beings are responsible for their own actions, they can choose to disobey.
Vicarious Redemption - The fallacy that somewhere, somehow, someone died for your sins, possibly before you were even born, and now you are supposed to be forever in gratitude to them
The refutation - Again, everybody is responsible for their own actions. There has to be a contract in order for me, or anybody, to be legally obligated to be in gratitude to anybody else. Otherwise, their dying "for us" means absolutely nothing. Not to mention, apart from Christians, this is brought up the most by troop apologists who claim that they "died for your freedom", and we all know that this is false. They died for corporate profits.
