Jolly? I think I've heard that name before. hmm

Sorry, mate

I never thought like that once. Old members are people I respect. If anyone is bothered by this thread, then I will lock it

Honestly, this question has been on my mind for a long time, who actually are the members who often comment on wall observer? they are legendary members who have many merits, they have never registered or joined a sign campaign, I suspect they are holders or miners, maybe they are true bitcoin lovers, maybe some members think their posts are just shitpost/off topic but they are existing members on this forum are not for campaigns, they are there for bitcoin

Sorry if my question is quite silly, please don't be too blasphemous, maybe a little blasphemous is okay  Wink Wink

I been thinking about this also even tho it's not important, maybe they had the guts to invest in Bitcoin 10 years ago and enjoy life these days instead of searching for what campaign pay the most and spam posts here to earn some money. Because what I found out is that some (many) users (Legendary) that have been members here for a long time did not invest in anything when they had a good chance years ago they was to insecure maybe or whatever didn't afford it anyway I can only speak for myself if I would have bought 10 BTC for 10 years ago and sold it for good profit I would exit this forum straight and enjoy my life and traveling and not looking for a signature campaign and I think this users already know what they need to know so no need to use the forum as a crypto newbie (as me for a example) Cheesy Since I am still a big rookie this forum is good for me to explore and learn new things. But a signature campaign is not any goal for me, my goal is to be learn more about BTC and Crypto so I can make some good investments because one thing is sure, it's many users here with good knowledge that are very helpful and friendly and then we got another bunch of users! But everyone has the right to use the forum how they want as long they follow the "rulesGrin

Its a theory.  Wink

Yeah, you're right. I also don't know whether if I joined this forum 10 years ago I would have dared to invest in bitcoin or not, maybe at that time the risk was still high because bitcoin was not as popular as it is now. Currently, Bitcoin is popular but its price is exorbitant.

You can go through their post history and see what their interests are. You can learn a lot about a person by the boards they frequent. You could also check out the thread below to see if any of the members granted an interview;

Interviews with Bitcointalk members

they are legendary members who have many merits, they have never registered or joined a sign campaign, I suspect they are holders or miners, maybe they are true bitcoin lovers,
Again, joining subscription campaigns is a choice. I don’t know why you’re so surprised that some people choose not to join one. I also don’t believe that those wearing signature are not true lovers of bitcoin.

maybe some members think their posts are just shitpost/off topic
AFAIK you are the only one saying it.

one thing for sure that I know about the main folks on the wall observer thread is that, they are both HODLers and Bitcoin lovers, infact they believe in long term HODLing of bitcoin which can be at least 5 years or more depending on individual desire. If you actually want to know more about how they acquire their bitcoin, this Thread will be helpful, since of them like :
JayJuanGee
vapourminer
philipma1957
El duderino_ and some others did this interview also.

From this list you made, permit me to make an additional observation about them that this are people that only focuses on bitcoin and nothing more, they are not just holders, but they are great motivators that are being genuine in seeing everyone enjoys the same benefits they are getting from bitcoin adoption, so they will focus more on anything that has to do with bitcoin buy and sell, investment and so many other, another unique characteristics about them is that they are not doing all they were into just because they needed to make promotion for any organization, bitcoin is already being part of them and they don't participate in any signatory campaign.

They certainly love bitcoins because they are very consistent with the wall observer board.

Wall Observer thread attracts a lot of spammers and shit posters too, but a good number of the users who are included in the top 20 user list in that thread are not shit posters, or spammers.

I'm not sure what their background is - but they are likely users who likely have a higher amount of bitcoin than the average user on the forum. But what are you worried about - they could be miners, traders, bitcoin whales, developers, early investors, or something like that. Their love for Bitcoin makes them engrossed in discussions, make predictions, jokes, or other things that make them excited.

Here are the top 20 users in that thread:

HODL - BTC
I don't often visit the Wall Observer board, the discussion is beyond my own reasoning because there is more focus on bitcoin talk which is true maybe they are a HODLer.

I once saw someone who showed a list of prices going up for Bitcoin and other coins and then someone replied that the old members there were told to throw the shitcoin or cut the shitcoin picture, it seemed that they were shitcoin haters. Grin

They're some of the unique gems of this forum, and they're the ones who prefer privacy a lot. Only Philipma1957 is truly open-minded one and doesn't really care much about privacy and openly shares that where he belong to. There are many good members of the that who actively post there on daily basis.

A few of them have applied signature on their profiles but they really don't care much about the income that's generated via signature thing. I used to be very active on that thread and still sometimes I make posts on that thread. I try to read some posts of that thread when I get time.

The posts on that thread are quite good because those guys are lovers of Bitcoin and they want it to grow. I must say that all of the members of that thread are highly respected members and they really don't care much about other parts of the forum.

I don't think they will come here and tell us about themselves. Instead, you have the option to read their post history. I'm sure there is a lot of interesting stuff there; you'll probably find the answers you need about why they love only one branch so much and rarely go beyond its boundaries.
And yes, wearing a cap, for many, has become an indicator that a person will be a frequent visitor to this topic. Smiley

Sorry if my question is quite silly, please don't be too blasphemous, maybe a little blasphemous is okay  Wink Wink
Everyone on the forum has a reason for being here. Some love Bitcoin, while others are here for signature campaigns. The folks on the wO thread are seen as legends who got into Bitcoin way back in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and beyond. They're big investors who probably own a lot of Bitcoin already, so signature campaigns don't really add much to their holdings. They're long-term holders who have been through a lot with Bitcoin. As @Amphenomenon mentioned, if you read interviews with them, you'll hear interesting stories. They might not be interested in other parts of the forum because they enjoy the wO—it's a fun aspect of Bitcointalk for them.Like this part from El duderino_
He also showed me the Wall Observer which he said, you will enjoy this page for good laughs, good meme's etc and also good insights of some smart bitcoiners.... Im' a bit of a computer n00b, so he gave me the direct link to the WO which I thought was the whole forum  Cheesy Cheesy, spend a year on the WO before I knew there was more as the WO itself ... (first lurked some months, then made an account)

Most of them found the signature campaigns as though a way of spamming the forum for little pays and which was never a thing for them.

Thank you for the great answer you provided

I don't know what you expect to know in an anonymous forum about them. The most you can know is about those who gave the interview but little else, and that was focused on what they think of bitcoin and the forum, not so much on them.

I'm just curious. Maybe they are old members who are only interested in bitcoin. I know my question is silly, that's why I titled it FUN

False. LFC, philipma1957 or JJG as Amphenomenon says are examples of the contrary.

Not every members of this forum are interested in campaign while some of them may have participated before but don't just want to go to the hassle of bothering on post count or other reasons. Though some these folks on wall observer were once on signature campaign, notably JayJuanGee, while some of them are merit source, the old folks are actually good posters and you verify by checking their merit stat and post.

I suspect they are holders or miners, maybe they are true bitcoin lovers, maybe some members think their posts are just shitpost/off topic but they are existing members on this forum are not for campaigns, they are there for bitcoin

Though Its true that some may see that thread as no good since because of the fact there seems to be some off topic posts to them there but it is actually way of keeping the thread fun and lively while sometimes it is even insightful. Just like how the Technical aspects board of Bitcoin has been helpful and important, wall observer thread has also been helpful and I bet you can't get a financial advice about bitcoin better than the ones given there.
