You're welcome.

Note that you might find that the exchange decides to charge you a fee for recovering your BTC... a lot of the exchanges charge fees for fixing what they call "cross chain" transactions. Undecided

Anyway, good luck with the BTC recovery... hope the exchange helps out!

A DOUBLE thanks to you; because this faux pas by me is not going to cause a loss of anything but peoples' time, it seems.

On this morning, at this address of Blockchain.org https://blockchain.info/address/16ckC8g6BkUDoJPXi1VxvfC41ift4LwQ1Z , there is shown a credit of "0.099044 BTC".  However, this is the address given me by the QuadrigaCX computer (for use with BCH ---  16ckC8g6BkUDoJPXi1VxvfC41ift4LwQ1Z). So QuadrigaCX staff have access to its private key, and I have sent them a note telling them that I am on my knees begging them to put the funds back into my BTC account at their exchange. (I will get back to them for help re. crediting the 0.099 BCC to my BCH account, later on  -- so thanks again here.)

There is a silver lining here (even if I end up losing the money).

I am not a computer neophyte but I just started buying cryptocurrencies (coming over from years of options trading in the stock market), and the one thing that has bothered me most is the fact that there is no one ("at the bank", so to speak) call and ask to track down the misplaced money and reroute it to the right place. (It still bothers me!) But this record keeping at blockchain.org is just super, and I am sure that if more people in the huge horde of potential crypto. traders still waiting to 'join  the club' knew about what this service at blockchain.org achieves it would lower their anxiety level a lot, as it is now doing for me.
Cheers!

Many thanks for pointing out the mistake. It was a lapse of memory after reading the instructions  -- I forgot that I should have gone first to ElectronCash. Also, thanks for your promt response.

It would appear you've sent BTC to a BCH address Undecided

You were not supposed to send your BTC from Electrum to a BCH address. You were supposed to import your seed into Electron Cash and then send your BCH from Electron Cash to the BCH address at the exchange.

You will need to contact QuadrigaCX and ask them nicely to recover your BTC using the private key that they have for the address: 16ckC8g6BkUDoJPXi1VxvfC41ift4LwQ1Z

They are the only people that can recover your BTC.

Your BCH is still in your original address as you can see here: https://www.blocktrail.com/BCC/address/3HicmPMRmFLZHPu8zstsQdAegNQ2s2f4pt

Also, I note your original BTC address is a "3" address... was it a 2FA wallet perchance? or was it just a standard multisig? Either way, you are probably going to have some issues getting your BCH out... it's not as simple as importing your seed into ElectronCash

Following the instructions at https://electrum.org/bcc2.txt, I moved BTC (held on Aug 1) to a new address with a new Electrum seed, did a recovery using to the old seed (which showed the funds still there) and sent them form the OLD seed to this BCC address at QuadrigaCX exchange: 16ckC8g6BkUDoJPXi1VxvfC41ift4LwQ1Z    .  At Blockchain.info ( https://blockchain.info/address/16ckC8g6BkUDoJPXi1VxvfC41ift4LwQ1Z )  I see the transfer made and 94 confirmations reported; but the balance in BCC at QuadrigaCX is still zero. Is there some way to recover the funds back to BTC if I still have e the private key connected with the now empty BTC address? Alternatively, is there some way to have the equivalent funds accepted in BCH? I do still have the Electrum assigned combination of private and public keys associated with the funds.
Thanks in advance.
