The Lightning Network is a good project cause of it faster transactions and near-zero fees features which caught the interest of the bitcoin community. But can we say about the bug found on it?

You don't get it, do you?  The bug was found cause the network is not fully setup and the Lightning CEO (Elizabeth Stark) already told people not to use the network but people are haste.

I think the lightning network technology look promising cause they are planning to change the bitcoin transaction scheme but we don't know yet if they will really fulfill their promises and if they do I guess they are the future of crypto.

What do you think about this technology ?
Although the use of the lightning network will be the solution in the long term, it is a very complex solution and contains many disadvantages:

  • How to receive payments when the user is offline
  • A practical solution only for institutions, not individuals
  • There are easier solutions ex: blinded bearer certificates

Overall, the development of this network is ongoing and may solve all these problems.
We are promised fewer fees and faster confirmation.

What I'm saying is that its already being implemented, nodes are running and we'll see more adoptions in the next coming months.

You're wrong on this, bitcoin's lightning network is already been implemented (although its not fully operational) but lightning network nodes are now running.

Here's a reference.

Well, thanks for the links but the stories are more like demonstration of the technology, rather than real business. It would be real if the pizza shop had a payment channel with Hanyecz or his friend. Anyway, Lightning stays very promising so let's just wait a bit.

Much more scalable than increasing block size. Current version of LN that is tested on main net is not the final one. If this solution works its going to be developed over many next years. But LN isn't the end of scaling. We're going to have tons of layers and each one will increase the ability of Bitcoin.

Well, it isn't ready yet, so it's quite early to judge. But the idea itself is great.

Yeah well, I've read some people argue that LN, doesn't really help btc, it keeps everything in fiat or something.... and they say it goes against btc principles
