Thanks for the reply.

Im having issues sending money with Blockchain.info. I tried sending a small payment to a paper wallet and decided not to pay the mining fee. After about 40 hours it gave up. So I have tried again today about 5 hours ago using the frugal fee. even though it says high priority is still not confirmed.

Is this just a problem with this wallet or do I just need to pay a bigger fee, which if I'm honest seems to be defeating one of Bitcoins marketing points. Like I have said elsewhere I can move my money around between my various bank accounts in the UK almost instantly and for free.

Hopefully Im just doing something wrong?

That remains to be seen.  Logically it seems that the transaction fees could theoretically go up as the difficulty mining continues to increase...  I am not sure they are directly correlated, but I think they are tied..

In the future will we get charged with bigger fees like we do with credit cards now (in the region of 2% for example) to cover the miners / confirmation costs?

I got a message last night when using blockchain.info that if I didnt pay the transaction would take a long time.
