I guess that's where I'm missing out.  I haven't looked at anything but btc and eth because they have more of an illusion of stability.  I like what crypto currency in general is trying to do and of course enjoy messing with the hardware and the attempt to be a part of something that most people won't spend the time to try to understand.  And of course I'm interested in making a little profit while I'm at it.  My girlfriend's explanation to her dad when he asked what I was building my rig for was "Oh, he spent a bunch of real money so that he can earn fake money."  Lol.

yea id look at all there is no longer a hate for alt coins they all welcome it now but a few hard core BTC lover ..and a lot of them are starting to admit see whats going on ...I'm  kind of glad bitmain priced me out buying BTC Gear , i do better with alt coins SO they did me a big favor ..after S5 I see it as it's there lose ... ID rather buy off  GPU maker any way there not asshole like bitmain can be.

ethereum switch POS at the end of this year. There is no future for Ethereum. Casper POS is waiting Ethereum.

There are allot of altcoins worth mining, so I'm not concerned with Ethereum going PoS. I am not counting on profits staying as high as they are, but I believe there will be coins worth mining for the foreseeable future and beyond.

Fake money haha... I can see in the future this crypto making a bigger impact, and maybe getting like a crypto card that was only linked to your bitcoin address, maybe other currencys as well... and like Tesco accepting it - will probably happen someday

I will just move onto mining other coins, there are plenty of them and Im sure the market will not just crash all in a sudden. After all these years btc mining is still a thing. For now Im setting up all my rigs to mine ETH fullscale, when PoS kicks in I believe prices will go even higher.

I think everyone will just switch to ETC, price will go 0.01-0.02, we will carry on Smiley there equihash too keep things going as well and lord knows new dagger shit all the time too ;p

After ROI, 1/2 the time i sell to nicehash, set and forget anywayz myself ;p

why sell the GPU's  i mine both ZEc and ETH  and there is a ton of coins that gear can mine and can replace ETH and make all most as much .. i mine mainly Zcash and have sense it went live .even over ETH, i mined ETH before that ..I even have 3 Script miner and mine that coin .. kind of still mine sha256 or BTC with my one A6 but that gear cost to much to justify it as a hobby .

O yea forgot to add , unless GPU mining actually dies and I thought it did a while back,I'll  keep using what ever i have and keep buying one GPU a month till i get my farm were i want it no reason to rush it and use those GPU till the news one come in 2 years  or so and sell the old off sense the GpU stay at about the same price which is good and using gpu will last long a while  and then save the coins for Script miners and may even buy a Few BTC miner again sense the price is nice atm per BTC it looks like its gonna stay that way for a long while  but did drop to 900 a week or so then it went back up to 1500 and if ETH die, no bige ...I don't mine eth  much any way and mine Zcash with gpus but do use ETH for converting to cash as needed if the BTC network if having issue trying to convert it , i found out lately it's easier to convert to ETH then sell eth for cash ..same with ZEC  and litecoin cash it to ETH then sell the ETH on coin base and btw they buy sell  LItecoins now ..

There are plenty of other GPU-minable cryptocurrencies out there, all those that use Ethash, Equihash or Cryptonote can be easily mined with GPUs and they are quite profitable.

Can't talk about ETH, I've always mined ZEC and has always been higher priced over the last few months... but moved to other coins now as a couple weeks ago started getting so hard to mine. So i'd keep the hardware, hopefully always something that will return a profit, plus it's a good past time Smiley

For people that have been mining eth or just getting started, what are your plans for mining once Ethereum goes POS?  Will you participate in the POS system?  Sell off your equipment and be thankful with the time you had mining before POS?  Move on to a different coin?  I think it'd also be interesting to know the motivations behind that particular decision.
