With mining you don't need high end motherborads, all these type of motherboards you listed draw a lot of power for them to function and with mining that is not a good thing. The best mother board is Asrock H81 Pro BTC, it consumes less power and handles up to 6 GPUs. These 5th and 6th gen motherboards are a complete waste of time in mining, the RAM is DDR4 which pull too much power on the board. You need to minimize power used by the board so that the most is used by gpus. Once the board and gpus compete for power then you machine crashes or most of your gpus will not have enough power.

Well now I've got the options of the following boards:

-Gigabyte G1 Sniper B7 (6th Gen)
-H97 Guard Pro (4th & 5th Gen)
-Gigabyte Z87 (4th Gen)

Any suggestions? Would love if someone can provide any idea about these in mining... Need the most power-efficient motherboard.

for the 3 GPU's any board above will do fine just do risers, however if I were you, I would consider future GPU additions, as for the power efficiency it will depend on your GPU settings and power supply, some sort of advise is that go for a higher efficiency and decent power supply.

I've 3 XFX RX 480 8 GB and currently I'm mining with them on a Dell Precision T7500, but the power the system is taking is way a lot. It's like 400 Watts for the GPU's and 300 Watts for the CPU alone. I'm now thinking of purchasing a custom-built system, and planning to go with the following:

-Mobo: G1 Sniper B7
-PSU: Corsair 750 Watts (CX750M)
-CPU: i3 6th Generation
-RAM: 8 GB DDR4
-HDD: 160 GB
-GPU's: 3x XFX RX 480

Anyone tried this motherboard? Is it any power-efficient? Can I somehow cut off the total power consumption to 500 Watts (400 Watts for the GPU's and 100 for the remaining stuff while mining)?
