Onion site ?
Pornography?
Gambling ?

Would it really boost Bitcoins ?

These are really the challenges that bitcoin will face in this dispensation of adoption. It has always been rumoured that , that  bitcoin is created because of illicit activities. I'm thinking this could be a reason that some countries are declaring a ban on it.

Because in some countries all of the above are banned and thus it will just make the government hate it more than they already do.
Am pretty sure that , there will be a boost but it will be 0.1% and the harm it will do in the eyes of the government , the newbies and the people that don't know about this will be much more than that.
Also there are pretty serious issues out there like *child pornography* and if Bitcoins is Integrated with this am pretty sure things will get out of hand.

By the way I have heard sites accepting payment as Bitcoins already, might be a good step for some people but overall , I don't think I support your line of thoughts.

Gambling is something that is kind of neutral thus That's the other thing that can be taken into account, because it's people's decision at the end of the day .

Whole categories of sites keeps disappearing from the site all the time. Sometimes it comes back sometimes not. Wouldn't it be good to have another wiki some other place that has more lax restrictions. Then have the bitcoin.it site at least link to it so people can at least find their porn, gambling, and other stuff!  Grin Some of this "adult" stuff is going to help drive Bitcoin! Perhaps even a tor/onion site?

The more illegal stuffs are involved in bitcoin, the lesser chance we will have for mainstream adoption. Small adoption in porn or any other illegal activities will only earn bad names for bitcoin instead of helping bitcoin!

Even though I don't consider gambling as an illegal activity because it is legal in many countires. But illegal selling of drugs and arms must be prohibited at all cost!

If we really want to see bitcoin growing and being accepted as a mainstream currency, anomolies like drugs and arms must be removed from the eco system! Removing gambling sites is a very conservative approach!

black market is important to the Bitcoin economy, and deserves to be mentioned.
Personally I would be happy, if Bitcoin was not used in any kind of illegal activity. But as it is unachievable, I see it as an unavoidable evil. I dislike many of laws that exist in the world, and I don't care if someone breaks them. But breaking the law always entails complications, which, I think, would be better to avoid at this stage. I believe, that systems like Bitcoin will change the world and will change the rules we live by, but it's still a long way to go to that point.

As to black market economy, let it develop on its own, no need to support it by listing in (a kind of) official directory.

Use of all crypto coins, especially Bitcoin, in illegal activities is easier than FIAT. But this is an indispensable event for globalization steps. What needs to be done is not to restrict freedom methods such as Bitcoin, but to move people's moral values to the next level.

"I deleted the Drugs section, since Bitcoin is still far too vulnerable to government actions against it -- there are many single points of failure."

I don't get this reasoning. It's inevitable that the government will know about Bitcoin, trying to hide it doesn't make sense. I don't use illegal services but I think the black market is important to the Bitcoin economy, and deserves to be mentioned.

hmm i googled to that link. Looks like you can't navigate there from main page. Maybe I will start a underbelly-of-bitcoin wiki.
