It's not even the money that's the biggest trouble. You make bad decisions because you don't see all the warning signs when you're too focused on quick fixes. For a short time, the odds may be on your side, but when you're desperate, you can't stop when you're ahead. You keep going after it, betting on it, and burning through what's left. After that, there's guilt, sorrow, and more debt. The cycle is kept going by emotional chaos, not by real plan or chance

Look at what's really going on. Are your bills making you mad? Faced with peer pressure? Stuck in bad habits? That's the first thing you should do. If not, each "recovery" bet is just a patch over a bigger wound; this one costs real money. Be smart about your gambling and stick to your budget if you really want to do it. If not, the game will play you instead of you playing it. Work on your focus. Pay attention to limits. Pay attention to the parts of your life that need long-term care. The chase in the short run isn't worth it

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Chasing losses is wrong because in the end you will lose all the money you have, you are not alone I also experienced in the past but have realized chasing losses in gambling will have bad results.

So don't chase losses anymore, just be able to afford the money you are ready to lose because basically gambling games lose more, it's okay if you expect to win more but you have to be realistic if losing means you are still unlucky.

Gambling with this mentality would definitely make you lose because you are doing it out of desperation. This is a wrong way to approach gambling, it's not totally wrong to gamble for the purpose of making profit but gambling to recover the money you have spent might take you off balance.
are you trying to say you lost just because you had the wrong mentality while gambling? that might not be completely true.
the outcome of your prediction is not a function of your intention for gambling and even though your intention plays its own role in how you react to losses and how much you expose yourself to risk, there are instances where you might gamble to recover certain losses, and you get lucky to hit it well from the prediction.

gambling is a game of luck. factors like the intent of your gambling and how desperate you want to win in your gambling only affect the amount you use in making your bet and never the outcome of your bet. with the right analysis and luck shining on you, the worst of intent can give you the highest win you have ever hard as a gambler.

As gamblers we can all agree that one of the reason why  people gamble sometimes is to recover the money they spent on other things. Can anyone relate to this? I remember how this messed me up few months ago, I was owing someone a certain amount of money, after paying up I got tempted to try and get it back through gambling so I dived into the game. I ended up losing the rest of the money I had that were meant for other things. Gambling with this mentality would definitely make you lose because you are doing it out of desperation.
Whether you are gambling to make money or you are gambling to recover the money you have spent, you will still lose your bet if you make the wrong moves or if your predictions are wrong. When you are gambling, you should discipline yourself and set out a percentage from your monthly income or weekly income that you will use to gamble. If you exhaust the money without recording any winnings, you have to put a hold on gambling until you receive your monthly income or weekly income before you can use your usual percentage to start gambling again so that you will not use the money that is meant to solve your daily expenses and gamble, which will make you find it difficult to survive if your bet goes sideways.

yeah, and it is one of the stupidest things a gambler can do, chasing losses from gambling is bad enough, using the money you spent on other things as a way to justify your gambling is worse.

I ended up losing the rest of the money I had that were meant for other things.
this is why you never gamble money you can not afford to lose, having this kind of mindset will save you a lot of trouble and headaches.

There are different types of wrong thinking that individuals have just to find a reason to gamble.

These ways of thinking to show justification for gambling is wrong and the individual with such a thought knows it however thinks that there is a little means of truth to it .
This is a different type of chasing losses event but it is non- gambling- gambling connected.

This is a common reality that every gambler knows already, gambling is two-sided for you to maintain your profits or stop your losses, you have to avoid chasing any direction either chasing profits or recovering from previous losses, this ultimately leads to losses in the end.

To survive in gambling, avoid greed and only play within your limits, accepting the two basic facts in gambling whichever are either you lose or win.

The reason that I know people that are losing more than they are expecting is because they want to make money. It can be because they want to just make weekly earning or recover losses. It is not good at all to think of making money from gambling. But even if you want to make money from gambling, you need to discipline yourself about it and not gamble more than what you can afford to lose.

I have not gamble before because I want to be able to pay money but I have gambled before because I want make money. But after some losses, I know that I have to stop the problem gambling.

I think that this is the same plot of some films and series of TV: some guy owes little money, then borrows some money from some kind of mafia and spends it all in some stupid bet or gambling, to lose the borrowed money and be in real trouble.

If you have debt to pay, you should work. Gambling shouldn't be considered a source of income; not, at least, when you really need that income urgently.

It's very common that people who are desperate to make money especially quick money often assume gambling is their best shot but no, it's a game of chance so you will never sure that you can win the money against the wagered amount so there's two possibility not one and often it ends on the negative side cause that's how the gambling is designed and that's the beauty in it as well. You can make big or nothing.
