Many cryptos seem to be moving away from proof of work as a basis because it is slow, and it seems a bit wasteful to burn CPU/GPU/ASIC cycles just to have a crypto.

However, proof of work, especially when human powered (even indirectly), still seems a very safe option in the sense that it is harder to get a majority. It is incredibly difficult to even get a few people to agree on something let alone 51%.

So I want to develop a crypto coin that is based on something people already like doing - gaming. There have been some coins that tried to do this before like Huntercoin and Motocoin, the problem there being that they are their own games that people don't like playing. Games purely for the function of mining these coins.

It should be possible to have games like League of Legends where proof of work is playing the game. Then through replays and the Riot API anyone can verify that the game actually happened and that it happened as it would according to the replay. Additionally anyone can verify that rules were not broken.

Riot has a big stake in providing truth as their business depends on providing truth about their ranked games so as long as the coin isn't as valuable, it would work. Though it can be considered a centralized coin at that point. In the future definitely more than one game should be supported, however for a PoC, it might do.

Minecraft was also considered, it can be more decentralized because anyone can host it and you need to assume everyone is a cheater. The proof of work in the game should still be something that is hard for computers to solve but it can easily be solved by humans.

Like many people I do not have the time to develop this on my own, but perhaps some people feel like this is a good idea and are willing to help out develop the coin and share their thoughts? Please let me know.
