One thing that I suggest is that you should complete a game multiple times before reviewing it. You have to be an expert and know all the subtleties.

Hello i am starting my own gaming blog/review website soon for a hobby but i have few questions i cant find answers for and would really appreciate the help.

How would i go about getting images of game covers and game trailers and posting them to review on my site without being hit by copyright law?

Also would it be legal to post game cheat codes on my website?

Thanks for reading hope you an help

You can use copyrighted material for teaching, parody, criticism, news or commentary under fair dealing or fair use doctrines without obtaining permission of the copyright owner.  Of course the laws are regional so you should check in your country to be sure.  Also, there isn't really anything to prevent a company from trying to sue you or at least siccing a lawyer on you... just to scare you into "compliance".  That being said, if you have the knowledge and confidence that your usage falls within the fair use doctrine, you shouldn't have anything to worry about.

thanks for the great answer Smiley

my website will be posting reviews about games and posting upcoming game trailers.

also if i add a paid membership status in the future i wont owe these company loyalty's right?

I wouldn't think that would be the case but I'm neither a finance lawyer nor an intellectual property lawyer.  If you plan to make big money from your site, get some actual legal advice.

Yeah memberships would not come into place for a few years from now if i even choose to add them.

Thanks for helping me i always thought posting images would be illegal, but now reading into copyright law on review sites seems i can Smiley

Do you have a wallet address i can tip you at, since your help was very much appreciated.

I have a wallet address in my profile but it's not really necessary to tip me.  I enjoy helping others.
