Hey all,
I've noticed on this board in particular that there are quite a few people who end up not making deals because of the lack of long term trust, so I'm here to help!
I'm one of the more trusted of the bitcointalkers, and I've done quite a few escrows in the past, some being as much as $4500 USD (not to mention I manage tens of thousands in other peoples' mining hardware). For those of you who aren't familiar with me and want some references, the Cognitive thread is a good place to start. Here's a link to the most recent commendations:
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.1387605Beyond that, check out my post history and -OTC ratings. (Same handle and GPG key)
The escrow process and terms here will be simple:
1) Both parties come to an agreement
2) Contact me via the forum or
[email protected] to finalize this.
Include:
- Buyer's mailing and bitcoin addresses. This will NOT be changed without GPG*
- Seller's bitcoin address to release funds. This will NOT be changed without GPG*
- Item list
- Email addresses
- Any other information you find pertinent.
* If you commence all communications to me via GPG signed messages, I will allow you to change your address via a signed message from the same key requesting to do so. This is recommended in case you move or lose access to your private key.
3) I will upload a document containing this information and provide both parties with the link. (Buyer's physical address can be withheld upon request)
4) I will provide the buyer with a bitcoin address, then after payment, add "Payment received" and sign the previously uploaded document.
5) When you receive the ASIC from BFL, there are two options, please specify "Shipping option 1" or "Shipping option 2" in your agreement:
- 1) I provide seller with my mailing address, and he/she sends to me, then I send to the buyer. (My shipping costs will be deducted from bitcoins that will be sent to seller)
- 2) I provide seller with buyer's mailing address, and the package is sent directly.
6) Buyer verifies that he/she has received the package, and I release coins to the specified seller's address.
If there are any disputes, I will use my fair judgement to determine where the coins go. Although this would be in an extremely rare case: If we cannot determine the outcome of a dispute, all coins will be donated to Bitcoin100. (Search the forum if you aren't familiar)
If you would like, you can agree on and include an expiration date for this escrow, where if the ASIC has not been shipped from BFL by this date, the escrow is canceled and funds are returned.
I reserve the right to cancel the escrow and return coins to the buyer at any time before the ASIC has been shipped by BFL. (I will probably only do this if they haven't shipped by June 2013)
My flat fee for this service is 1% of the coins sent to me, so please factor this into your agreement with the other party.
Cheers,
Garrett
