I do remember the garbage pail kids ones when growing up inwhich these remind me of.
So these are essentially the old-school way of NFTs with their special different rarity and small window of ordering them you are referring too?

those are "G.A.S. Trading Cards" and were initially being sold/offered through the NTWRK video shopping mobile app. (if not mistaken, the initial price of those were around $25 each & each card design comes with different rarities). The way those are being sold, is that they offer a short window of pre-orders (like 48 hours), and after that window closes, they produce the exact amount of cards pre-ordered. Hence each card design have different total cards in circulation (and randomly allocated are some rare cards with different border colours or holo effects)

I understand these are just a novelty item but they have quite a price tag for just a playing card.
