just another proof
transaction already confirmed in network but in gate io NO
You could have given a little bit more explanation instead just sharing screenshots that are in french. By the way, I saw this warning on CMC when it comes to this new POW ETH, can this maybe cause the issues you are having with Gate?

Please note that the price displayed below for certain exchanges reflect the value of the IOUs and it may not be transferable across exchanges. Exercise caution while trading and always DYOR.

Regarding Gate, I have a couple of close friends that are using that exchange frequently and with serious amounts (withdrawing/depositing tens of thousands of dollars) and none of them ever complained about it.

you can check time
The time is irrelevant. A computer's system time can be changed with a few clicks of a mouse button. So again, that's not proof. You quoted my post without addressing the last part of it regarding the possibility of the Gate.io exchange having different types of internal accounts. Have you checked if that is the case?

The first screenshot you posted can't be considered as proof that the balance was not credited to your account. You could have made it after you already made a swap with the token you deposited. So you are saying that the assets got deposited to your exchange account and they can be seen in the deposit history, but when you want to do a trade, the deposited coins don't show up?

Does Gate.io have a separate trading account that you need to fund first maybe? Some exchanges work like that. You deposit into your account, but then you need to make an internal transfer from your main account to your trading account. Only then can you use those coins. Check your Gate.io account and wallet thoroughly if that is the case here.

That's not a new practice from shady exchanges. If I'm correct, I have seen this few times happened with me though the scenery was different in my case. I had one coin on bitmart which I tried to withdraw but found that they disabled the withdraw. They were manipulating this. The coin price was pumped on other exchanges while low on bitmart. They were actually buying low on their exchange and selling higher on other exchange. This arbitrage is practiced by a lot of small exchanges.
You must avoid such exchange.

You are right. However, let me stress out this fact.
You mentioned binance and I'm fortunate to use their service. If you exchange crypto in binance, you will discover that using the quick exchange option, an individual have only few seconds to accept a given exchange before the price change. Similarly when trading on other platform, you have little time to make a decision before price surge or fluctuate. People don't check news on site, users probably have done analysis even before entering the platform to trade. If the deposit, stake, offer or deal option is enabled, people will use it without checking. I read market news before trading and I trust my broker. If the currency pairs is enabled, I can hit the trade button for that pair without fear of news flash. And I will be dumb to snap a screenshot of something I always do as proof or evidence for future reference. The real question should be - Was the deposit option really enabled on that faithful day for that particular crypto? If yes, then someone like me can't trade there bcoz I would make the same mistake like this person.

If you google more on the subject and the matter and the problems in court you will know how wrong and useless your comment is.
Your assumptions are useless. Whether or not Gate.io has started scamming their users has got nothing to do with the fact that Italian authorities aren't allowing them to provide services to Italian citizens. Would you call them legit if Consob didn't make that decision and wrote that announcement? No, of course not.

Binance has had its license blocked or not extended in several territories. I remember reading not that long ago that they will no longer be allowed to operate in Singapore due to licensing issues. They had issues with UK regulators previously in the past. That does not mean they were scamming UK and Singapore-based customers.

Gate.io may or may not be a scam site. Their licensing problems in Italy have nothing to do with it. It works the other way around as well. If Italian authorities allowed them to provide services to Italian citizens, you can't use that as an argument they are a legit and non-scamming exchange.

That has got nothing to do with this case. That's an announcement made by the regulator of the Italian stock exchange and securities market where it is stated that Gate.io and all their connected sites are not licensed to offer crypto trading services in Italy and to Italian citizens. Because of that, they are ordered to stop providing such services.

If you google more on the subject and the matter and the problems in court you will know how wrong and useless your comment is. Gate.io is deceiving users for more than a year, since the release of nec on their platform, but i think you are new in this field

I have not enough idea about gate.io as I think I had only created an account on the gate.io But as a user of cryptocurrency I have opened account on multiple reputed exchange site as well as gambling site and everywhere I have seen option of withdraw/deposit is disable along with announcement. And if still not announced yet it is disables on the deposit/withdraw option. But on this site why they have not disabled the option of deposit.
OP had the same problem with another exchange (Phemex). I saw his complaint in their ANN which means OP is likely the one who led to the problem. I don't think it's a coincidence

If at all OP's claims are true that he made a deposit, I think what he did was make a deposit onto a Luna address to his account that he had already saved sometime back. In this case, he is likely not to have checked the deposit page of the exchange that perhaps blocked generating the deposit address at that time and also had a warning about Luna deposits and withdrawals.

He probably just copied the address from wherever he had saved it and made a deposit, only for the account not to be credited at that time since deposits had been suspended.

But they did make an announcement that they are suspending deposits and withdrawals on the 10th May. You are to blame for making a deposit on 14th even after the announcement, that why it wasn't credited

Wasn't this Announced like in late December last year?

The likes of Binance, PrimeXBT among others were blocked too. I guess you are going to have a lot of exchanges to avoid.

Hi i deposited luna before deposit was getting disabled price was 0.0005 they didnt credit my account  (withdraw is always enabled ) that was on 14 may  and price on gate.io was always high than other markets and now the price is down to normal price so what i think gate io was doing arbitrage  and selling there coin in there market  and now price is 0.00019 so they just blocked our coins to sell there coins stay away from this shitty exchange
We know that gate.io has a lot of negative reviews, but can you prove your story?
Are you sure you deposited Tera/Luna? Did you use real gate.io platform? There is a lot of scam going on in the past days.

Based on this tweet, the blockchain halted at block 7607789  May 13, 2022
Have you contacted the support team, and what was their response? And what happened in the previous days?

it's also possible that OP just made a deposit of Luna into the exchange using his Luna deposit address that he already has saved somewhere.
I didn't consider that because I would personally never do something like that without checking my exchange account first. Not just to see if the deposits are still allowed, but also to ensure that the address hasn't changed for some reason and that my account is still on good condition (no limits, suspensions, requests for KYC. etc.).

The thing is, do we know for sure this didn't happen?
No, not really. I didn't consider the possibility which Bitcoin_Arena brought up that the OP could have saved his deposit address somewhere and just deposited the coins to his account without checking the exchange and the status of the Luna blockchain.

We will know more if we see similar accusations by other users against Gate.io.

The thing is, do we know for sure this didn't happen?

I have no way of knowing whether or not this was actually the case; I was just speaking more broadly, that if there was no banner, then there should have been one.

I refuse to believe that Gate.io did not put out any warnings on the deposit page or even totally disable generating the deposit address as most exchange do once they announce that deposits have been suspended.

This is the same guy have the same issue with phemex too. I don't think it's a coincidence.

Any self-respecting entity would put up a message about services being temporarily suspended, maintenance messages have become a standard nearly everywhere and in every industry. I'm hoping that lotfiuser is just mistaken, and that this isn't another exchange operating beyond poorly. I still stand by my statement about avoiding exchanges like the plague, though.

If this user is having this problem with multiple exchanges and nobody else is having these issues with either exchange, then it's probably safe to say that it is a user issue.

It sounds like this would be a good example for why exchanges going forward should be more transparent and active when it comes to trading or deposit suspension. If I were running an exchange, that sort of information would be displayed where it is most important; if deposits are being suspended, then that should be glaringly obvious where the user would go to deposit their funds and it should be displayed as a notice as far in advance as possible.

I still stand by the idea that we should all avoid putting any coins on an exchange for any amount of time as much as possible.

You knew of those issues and yet you still went to deposit despite all of those risks two days later, you checked the price and despite the warning that is even on that trading page and now you blame them for what?
He's having the same complaints with Phemex too, which mean he probably just deposited the money into the addresses without even checking if the deposit pages were disabled.

worst exchange i deposited 50000 luna when it was 0.2 $  so deposit didnt arrive at all then they disabled exchange of luna after 2 days when my deposit arrive i cant cashout and now muna price is 0.0003  so i just lost 10 k cuz this exchange

Gate.io announcement was on the 10th
https://www.gate.io/article/26475
Terra's blockchain stopped on the 12th
https://twitter.com/terra_money/status/1524785058296778752

But as okorieemmanuel rightly said, users of Gate.io shouldn't have to go search on Twitter or Gate.io articles whether or not they can deposit, withdraw, or trade their assets. Such instructions need to be available on the wallet page, which shouldn't allow you to display a receiving address at all due to the suspension in trading.

The thing is, do we know for sure this didn't happen?

While the title of your topic might be subjectively true, it is going to be extremely difficult for you to prove the claim within your first post, even if you're right.

That's not an excuse! He is right to claim foul Play here. If deposits were suspended on 10th of may, all deposit option for that coin is suppose to be removed effectively and immediately disabled for users.

Mr okorieemmanuel, How sure are you that the deposit option was still active?
What was the point of gate.io announcing suspension of deposit if they still left the deposit option active?
Is OP the only person who fell victim? Why are we not seeing more of such complaints about the "foul play" on Twitter, their Reddit or Trustpilot?

Bitcoin_Arena is correct when he says that an announcement was made that deposits and withdrawals will be suspended 4 days before OP sent those coins.

When it comes to accusations of the exchange doing arbitrage trading, that has to be proven, and I doubt OP can do that.
it's also possible that OP just made a deposit of Luna into the exchange using his Luna deposit address that he already has saved somewhere.

For example, I have my Binance or Bybit deposit addresses saved in my noncustodial wallet. I can send coins to my account minus checking my deposit option via the  exchange, which is a very bad practice in case they have disabled deposits, and I am not aware.

The price difference was because the withdrawals and deposits were disabled. This is common. Do you have any proof that they did any arbitrage trading?
