Aren't you forgetting the heatsinks on the revised verticle version? and to reduce the foot print can't you put the PS under the chassis?

Wait I thought the Chillis were PCI based hence need to be plugged into a MOBO?
No, and no. I mentioned a minimum ~5cm width/ea which includes the heatsink, and Chilis are not PCI based and do not require a motherboard; the form factor was designed so that they could be fitted into a PCI slot if one wished, just as possible a way of mounting them, but they don't actually connect through the slot. And spotswood hasn't posted pictures of the revised vertical version yet, it was just a picture of a similar design.

Ok! I would like one that holds 7 Chilis; I just measured the width with the Accelero Mono cooler attached and it is ~5cm each. How much would that cost / what's the next step?

Interested! But, I've opted for the VGA cooler setup, so they have a narrow profile and could be slotted vertically alongside each other -- do you have any options/ideas for that?

No problem.

A slight variation of the open-air case I designed for Drillbit Systems would work (note the custom mounting brackets that are used to attach the corners of the card to the support beams).

I'm starting this thread in order to gauge interest in a simple open-air case for Chili boards.

Naturally, the same basic design will work for any number of Chilis.
